Just got back in and after a short rest, I’m ready to talk about the show I just watched live! At the conclusion of this show, we finally got an answer from Jon Moxley! AEW Dynamite came to Southaven, MS – though largely referred to as Memphis – for their Anniversary show! A year out from the official, formal announcement of All Elite Wrestling, they put on a special show to be sure. Just half an hour away from me no less, I couldn’t help but go. Now that the show’s over though, it’s back to work for me. I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to give you all the results from tonight’s event!
Jon Moxley Rejects Chris Jericho’s Offer To Join The Inner Circle
For the past few months, Jon Moxley has been unstoppable. With that run of fortune, he’s also been pursuing Chris Jericho’s AEW World Championship. Not wanting to deal with this, Le Champion instead made a different proposal. He wanted Mox to join his group, the Inner Circle, to become his ally rather than his enemy! And in order to get him to agree, he offered a Ford GT and 49% of the Inner Circle LLC!
When Moxley finally made his response tonight, he let us know that he doesn’t care about either of those things. He just wants to dominate! And thus he agreed to join the most dominant faction in pro wrestling! In spite of his comment on not wanting the car, he did have Jericho hand him the key before starting their bubbly-popping celebration. But of course, things were not what they seemed. After quite a while of playing this up, and only after Jericho had his boys leave the ring, Moxley admitted that he was ‘just kidding’. He let us know the AEW World title is the only thing Jericho has that he wants, before breaking a bottle over his head and nailing him with the Double Arm DDT!
Jericho’s henchmen chased him from the ring and Moxley escaped through the crowd… still brandishing the keys to that Ford GT all the while!
