Meghan Markle destroyed any chances of having a cordial relationship with Kate Middleton by conducting her Oprah Winfrey interview.
Meghan Markle Shot Herself ‘In The Foot’ By Attacking Kate Middleton In Her Oprah Interview
That is according to Royal expert Ian Lloyd. Meghan certainly did not paint Kate in a good light, as shown by her revelations.
During the course of the interview, Meghan claimed that Kate had made her cry in the run up to her wedding with Prince Harry. But when the media had allegedly reported that the opposite had happened, Meghan was left feeling aggrieved.
But with that admission, it ultimately cast aspersions over Kate’s character. And that is something that has come at a cost for Meghan, with the chances of a reconciliation unlikely.
In an interview with the Express, Ian said: “I just can’t see it happening, particularly with William…I think they shot themselves in the foot with William and Kate, I don’t think they will get anywhere near them.”
Nevertheless, things could change if Harry and Meghan do adopt a different approach. They are set to attend Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee this year, which could provide everyone involved the opportunity to hash things out.
And with the monarch present, coupled with the fact that she is not getting any younger, perhaps this may urge all sides to come together.
With that being said, Ian did leave the door open for all sides to work things out. And yet, this would be a long-term effort. He added: “It’s a family and the relationship can be repaired.
“But I think it would need a long-term investment from both sides and I think it would involve Harry spending time here and doing things without giving interviews.”
Time will tell how the family dynamics move going forward, but if there is anyone that can sort out this family mess, then it has to be Queen Elizabeth. So the question remains, will she do it?
