El Lindaman silenced any doubters he had left when he defeated El Desperado last night. Now, he’s got a chance to defeat another front runner in the tournament in El Phantasmo, who was shaken to his core by a shocking loss to DOUKI last night. With each man at six points, a win tonight could push them to the top of the B-Block, as both remain firmly in the conversation of potential finalists.
El Phantasmo Fakes Injury To Claim The Win
ELP would take Lindaman down to the mat with some fast wrestling, before wasting time taunting. Lindaman would start to fire some forearm smashes, before tripping ELP onto the middle rope. He’d grab the head of ELP and toss him across the ring. ELP brought this one to the floor, and threw Lindaman into the ring post – but couldn’t get the easy countout win.
Back in the ring, ELP hit a stalling brainbuster, before a sitout powerbomb for a nearfall. Lindaman would use the ropes to set up a slingshot neckbreaker, before using his Judo background for a toss. ELP would try to springboard, before stumbling to the mat. Lindaman saw the trick, and blocked the Small Package into a brainbuster.
ELP again would sell a broken ankle, with the referee forced to check incase he wasn’t just being a weasel. A picture perfect superkick, CR2 and some jumping jacks after the three count showed that this was a simple but very effective trick that pushes ELP to 8 points.
Ryusuke Taguchi Knows SHO’s Tricks – But Was Out Numbered
Ryusuke Taguchi has not been able to defeat SHO since 2018, and intends to change that tonight. Both men are in need of a mid-tournament hot streak, coming into tonight with a mere two points each. Things aren’t impossible to turn around, but the loser in this one will likely be mathematically eliminated very soon.
SHO would attack Taguchi from behind during the entrance, before taking him to the floor and choking him out. He’d drag Taguchi out of the view of cameras, before asking for a count. The referee started, before SHO scampered back to the ring. Taguchi would make it back at 19, before a rushing hip attack.
On the outside, he’d choke SHO with his T-Shirt before T-Bagging him behind the entrance curtain. SHO might need therapy after that, and Taguchi would also play a switcheroo with the trusty wrench of SHO. More smothering would follow, but Taguchi had his tights up this time.
Flying hip attack from Taguchi would miss, before SHO would go after the eyes on the mat. SHO would hit some swift kicks, before the Cross Arm Piledriver was blocked. SHO blocked two hip attacks, before a third landed. Taguchi hit a triangle plancha to the floor, before a springboard hip attack.
Ankle Lock was applied, before SHO would drop the referee. He’d go for the wrench after hitting a snap German Suplex, but just found a Banana! Taguchi applied the ankle lock, and SHO had to counter into SnakeBite, but was countered into a pinfall. Taguchi grabbed the Ankle Lock again, before the lights went out.
Fans tried to light the ring, but Dick Togo slipped in and tried to take Taguchi out. Togo got a full moon on his face, but Yujiro Takahashi hit Taguchi with the cane before SHO pinned.
