YOH has finally beaten Hiromu Takahashi, and comes into tonight’s match with Francesco Akira fired up. The new protege of Will Ospreay has had a very slow start to his tournament, and is in a do or die situation now – anymore losing – and he’ll be mathematically eliminated. With his back against the wall, we might see the real Francesco Akira emerge tonight, and shut the budding win streak of YOH down in the process.

Francesco Akira Wastes No Time Beating Down YOH

Akira dove onto YOH during his entrance, knowing he’s got to get aggressive. YOH would take a 619 on the apron, and was nearly sent into the first row of fans. In the ring, Akira hit a crossbody splash, but only got a two count.

Both men had a chance to take their entrance gear off, and YOH would send Akira to the floor. Following a successful dive, YOH brought this back into the ring with some strikes before a Falcon Arrow for a near fall. Akira would seemingly go for a pinfall with a Wheelbarrow setup, before instead hitting a double stomp.

YOH would take two running lariats, before Akira missed the Fireball attempt. A superkick would land however, and YOH would respond with one of his own. YOH would hit a German Suplex, before being caught in the corner. Akira looked for Brutta Faccia and YOH countered before being taken off the top rope with the Spanish Fly.

Speedfire would follow, and Akira would nail Fireball. He defeats YOH, and avoids elimination from the tournament in the process. This is the man who Will Ospreay scouted, finally showing his true and very aggressive colours.

G-Rex Champion vs. ROH Pure Champion

Both Wheeler Yuta and El Lindaman are sitting pretty at six points coming into tonight’s match, but both remain at risk of falling behind without another win. This is a match that many circled when this tournament began, as two champions will clash. Is the ROH Pure Rules Champion or GLEAT G-Rex Champion greater? Let’s find out.

A handshake was offered by Lindaman, meaning Code of Honour was adhered to in this match. Lindaman would grab the wristlock and move into a hammerlock, before trying for a German Suplex. Yuta would counter, before taking a dropkick to the back of the neck.
Lindaman would trade forearms with Yuta in the middle of the ring, before capturing him using the ropes before a running dropkick. Yuta slipped to the floor, and Lindaman followed with a dive. Back in the ring, Yuta would hit a boot in the corner, before Lindaman went to the top rope. Enziguri would land to the head, sending Lindaman to the floor.

Yuta hit the dive to keep the pressure on, before hitting an armbreaker using the ropes. Flying crossbody would get a two count, before Yuta applied Cattle Mutilation. Lindaman would push backwards to reach the ropes, before Yuta looked for PainThriller. This was blocked, before both men would throw forearm smashes.

Yuta missed an enziguri but hit an atomic drop, before running into a dropkick. Pain Thriller from YUTA would land, but Lindaman would hit the bridging German Suplex. Tiger Suplex followed, giving El Lindaman the win.

Will El Lindaman go after the ROH Pure Championship? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
