Thunder Rosa is someone who despite being the AEW Women’s World Champion, still has a lot left to prove in her career. She’s trying to prove herself as a fighting champion, but has yet to get that type of platform in AEW. So far, she’s still been able to get a positive reception from the fans, but Serena Deeb does not care about things like that.

Deeb simply wants to prove she’s the best wrestler in the AEW Women’s division, if not in the world. She’s the seasoned veteran, kicking her career off in AEW – and always pushing to be the best. Tonight, she has a chance to get the gold to prove she’s the best, meaning both ladies have something to prove here tonight.

Serena Deeb Shows Why She’s One Of The Best

These two would lock up hard to start this match, with Deep taking Rosa into the corner. The crowd was split on their chants, as we got a clean break and a restart in the ring. Rosa grabbed a wrist lock, and Deeb would counter and take this match down to the mat.

Deeb failed to keep the match on the mat, with with Rosa proceeding to win the test of strength. Rosa would get caught into a crucifix, but Deeb was vulnerable to a pinfall counter. Deeb was taken into a Pendulum Hold, before Rosa finally took this one back to standing.

She’d hit the lariat before a series of arm drags and a jacknife pin attempt. Rosa hit a Dustin Rhodes style drop down throat thrust, before Deeb went outside. She’d dodge the baseball slide, before catching Rosa on the apron and sliding her into the ring post.

Deeb nailed the twisting neckbreaker in the ring, before a Gory Stretch in the ropes. Rosa would power her way free, before a hammer throw into the corner of the ring. Deeb would find her feet before a running lariat and a slingshot double knee strike to the chest.

Deeb took refuge on the bottom rope, before taking a dropkick to the chest. Rosa would hit the Northern Lights Suplex, before Deeb applied the Flying Octopus Hold. She’d be unable to get the pin, before a flipping stunner out of the corner.

Thunder Rosa Closes Out An Instant Classic

Rosa blocked the attempt at Deebtox, and hit a Russian Leg Sweep. She’d move into a crossface, but Deeb would counter into Numero Dos. Rosa fought free, before they met each other in the middle of the ring with lariats.

Deeb took a double stomp to the spine before a Death Valley Driver. They’d exchange slaps in the ring while in a leg lock, and rolled to the outside. Both landed hard on knees, before Deeb got a Dragon Screw in the ropes. Deebtox landed, but Rosa kicked out.

Serenity Lock would be applied, but Deeb couldn’t hold it. She’d hit a powerbomb and move into the Cloverleaf, and again Rosa fought free. A kick to the face sent Deeb into the corner, where she’d climb up and get taken down with a superplex. Rosa moved right into the Fire Thunder Driver, and finally won this match.

Who will step up to Thunder Rosa next? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
