House of Black & Death Triangle are not done with each other yet, with a big time singles match coming tonight. It’s PAC and Buddy Matthews in a match announced earlier today by Tony Khan on Busted Open Radio. Fans have wanted this match since Matthews arrived in AEW, and should be a great one.
CM Punk Has Successful Surgery, New Tournament Starts NOW To Crown All-Atlantic Champion
Before this match would kick off, we’d catch up on commentary who had an update on CM Punk. His surgery was successful. That’s not the only good news, as the AEW All-Atlantic Championship would be announced.
A new singles title, and a tournament of eight is announced. Buddy Matthews vs. PAC kicks this tournament off, with Miro vs. Ethan Page, Penta Oscuro vs. Malakai Black, and a NJPW match to follow. The winners move to a Fatal Four Way at Forbidden Door.
PAC Punches His Ticket To Forbidden Door
These two would lock up, with Matthews yanking down on the arm to start. PAC would slip free before taking a headlock. Matthews would lose control of PAC, before a stand off. PAC would send Matthews to the floor with a hurricanrana, before teasing a dive.
Matthews had it scouted, but PAC was still somehow one step ahead – not diving and heading out to the other side of the ring. PAC would have Matthews quickly catch up, before launching him over the time keepers table. Matthews would regain control, and hit two hard back suplexes onto the apron.
PAC would hit a knee strike and DDT as Matthews looked to get back into the ring, but was unable to follow up with a pinfall. Matthews missed a knee strike before taking a superkick. PAC would take a jumping knee in response, before hitting the German Suplex and a heavy lariat.
Matthews was set up on the top rope before a gamiguri to the face. He’d respond with a Sunset Flip right into a Liger Bomb for a two count. PAC found his footing for the Poisonrana, before a pump kick into the corner. Black Arrow was drawn, and Matthews would take the blow for the pinfall.
