In the meeting that Elon Musk, the new owner of the company held with Twitter’s employees, he spoke about various things. Amongst many things, he reflected on his ‘alpha’ brain and informed the employees that no matter what, he just wants to see the company evolve and get better and wants them to listen to him blindly.
Elon states that he doesn’t ‘really care’ what his title in the company is, but he puts a great amount of belief in his decisions and wants full support from his employees.
Elon Musk Doesn’t Even Care About Being A Twitter CEO – He Just Wants To See The Company Grow
“There are a lot of chores to being CEO. And I just want to make sure that the product evolves rapidly and in a good way. I don’t really care what the title is. But people do need to listen to me.” – Musk states.
Musk doesn’t have this complex of being important, because he knows that he is important. He usually is the strongest link in his business’s chain. Ad having this title, he doesn’t bother if the people call him the CEO, or something else. Twitter is not the first company where he expresses this view on the matter. For example, in SpaceX and Tesla, his title stays as “Techno King”, his Chief Financial Officers have titles as “Coin Masters”, etc.
He does this re-naming of the executive’s positions in order to prove that the name of the position doesn’t mean anything. The work that you do is what matters.
“All of these other titles are just basically made up. So CEO is a made-up title, CFO is a made-up title, general counsel … They don’t mean anything.” – Musk says while being on the stand and speaking at the Wall Street Journal’s 2021 CEO Council Summit.
Elon Musk is usually the brain that is behind all his engineering and production endeavors. He has said many times that he strives to preoccupy himself with engineering tasks, more than administrative work. The administrative work, according to him is the boring part of a CEO’s responsibilities. So when he acquires Twitter, he will focus on the software behind the social media and on the product design.
“If I say ‘Hey, we need to improve the product in the following way and add these features’ then, like, I do expect that people will listen to me in this regard.” – Musk says to the Twitter employees at the meeting.
Since the beginning of the negotiations to buy the platform, he accuses Twitter of being a fairly biased company. Elon Musk says that they are evidently siding with the Democrat Party political wing in the USA. And he says that he will put an end to it.
Musk promises to make Twitter a ‘Town Hall’ that promotes free speech. He promises to get rid of censorship completely. He strives to provide a ground where everyone can take his stand and express his beliefs to the world.
