During the second season of Sister Wives, Kody Brown felt he was at risk of getting arrested because polygamy was criminalized in Utah, where he lived with his plural family, so they relocated to Las Vegas and started a whole new life. Now, fans are saying the whole drama was fake.
Sister Wives Family Leave Utah For Las Vegas
The Brown’s plural marriage was doing fine when TLC introduced them to viewers in 2010. It was around that time that Kody was also adding a fourth wife, Robyn to the family so fans found the drama more intrigued. Robyn and her children from a previous relationship were originally living five hours away but when she got engaged to Kody, the family moved her around the corner, so they didn’t live under the same roof.
Viewers Agree That The Brown Family’s Relocation Scene In Season 2 Was Fake
Since polygamy was criminalized, the big family packed up their beloved Utah home and relocated to Vegas. Now, it seems fans have rewatched the clip, shared it on Reddit, and a started a thread. Viewers are thinking this particular scene was actually fake. At one point, as they are racing to leave their home, a siren is heard and the patriarch of the Brown family panics.
One fan asks, “Why would the police have their siren on to come arrest them anyway lmao. They are so over the top.” Another person says, “There have been confirmations from people – I wish I could remember where – that the whole thing was staged this way for the show. As someone who has lived in Salt Lake City on the same block (yes within the city!!!) as polygamists… it’s sort of not as unusual as you would think.
They usually hide out more than the other neighbors, and that starts to give it away.” Someone also added, “I’m 100% sure the adults were being overly dramatic for the sake of the show. The kids, though, seemed genuinely traumatized and stressed out. As a parent, I can’t believe anyone would purposely traumatize their kids for the sake of being on TV.” A lot of commenters agreed that the scene was staged or exaggerated.
