Kate Middleton has been slammed after reports indicated she is wanting to invite Prince Harry to attend Prince William’s summer birthday bash.
Kate Middleton Branded Disingenuous After Reports She Wants Harry To Attend William’s Birthday Bash-‘Tell Her Husband To Wish Harry A Happy Birthday, Start At Home Kate’
According to reports, Queen Elizabeth II is set to host an event to highlight William’s 40th birthday. And as part of that process, it is claimed that Kate would like Harry to attend.
And yet, there seems to be no mention of Meghan Markle which would naturally complicate things by virtue of the fact that she is Harry’s wife.
Neil Sean, who happens to be a Royal expert, had this to say: “Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge is very keen for Harry to be invited [to her and William’s joint birthday party].
“[Although] no mention of Meghan, I noted in the quote I was told.” Nevertheless, this approach has been criticised for the following reasons. First of all, when it came to attending Lilibet’s birthday, Kate and William did not take up the invitation.
While it may be argued that they were preoccupied with Royal duties, the very fact of the matter is that it was Lilibet’’s first visit to see her wider family.
Secondly, the fact that William had reportedly refused to make eye contact with his brother during the ‘Service of Thanksgiving’ at St Paul’s Cathedral, that is hardly an advert for an invitation to a birthday bash.
And yet, the response on social media was much more hostile. A certain subset of people called out Kate on the basis that she was being disingenuous.
After all, she had done nothing to suggest that she was looking to bridge the gap during Harry and Meghan’s recent UK. One person wrote: “Oh Bull! They refused to meet the baby! They declined to attend her first Birthday party.
“Queen or refused to allow a photo with great granddaughter kid shunned. Royals,” while another person stated: “Did she tell her husband to wish Harry a happy birthday?
“Start at home Kate and leave Harry , Meghan and their children alone.” So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
