Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen are now the NXT UK Tag Team Champions. The belts were left vacant after an injury to Ashton Smith, and Briggs & Jensen were able to win the belts in the ensuing chaos. Now tonight on NXT 2.0, they will address this shock title win – and perhaps have some new challengers step up.
Carmelo Hayes Signs Some Things For Grayson Waller, New NXT UK Tag Team Champions Get First Challengers
Before they hit the ring, Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams had a chance to speak. They would hype up the status as A-Champion, before Grayson Waller would get Hayes to sign some merchandise for him… and an unknown piece of paper on the pile. Perhaps, even a contract for a title match at Great American Bash.
Briggs & Jensen would get some scattered ‘you deserve it’ chants, before they’d start to hype up the crowd. They love to fight, so they went overseas to find one. One thing led to another, and they got the biggest fight yet. Ashton Smith & Oliver Carter will get their rematch when healthy, and Jensen said he was happy Briggs picked him to be his tag team partner.
They went from a team with potential to being champions, but there’s something left to do. Before we’d find out, Pretty Deadly hit the scene. Former champions in their own right, they would say that those belts meant something when they held them, but now they’re held by some trailer trash.
The bar has been lowered, but Pretty Deadly can bring status back to the belts they held for 280+ days. Briggs & Jensen know the lineage of the belts, and they’re going to be fighting champions – and it was time for a fight. Pretty Deadly were beaten down and sent from the ring – but this one won’t be over with just a few cheap shots.
Kiana James Out Thinks Indi Hartwell
Indi Hartwell is still trying to find her way in WWE now that she’s alone. Her best friend, husband, and family have all left the company, leaving Hartwell to stand on her own. She’s found some allies in Cora Jade & Roxanne Perez, leading to a six woman tag team victory. However Kiana James would pull her back down to earth, saying Hartwell did nothing to help get to the win.
James would start things off with an armbar, before Hartwell was able to counter into a rear waistlock. The ropes would allow for the break, before James would get sent with an armdrag. Armbar would be applied on the mat, before James slipped free and out of the ring. James would hit a spear into the corner, and would apply the body scissors.
Hartwell would fight free and hit the big boot, before hitting a jab to jaw. Springboard elbow drop would miss, before James would use the ropes on a roll up to get the win. Can Indi Hartwell bounce back from this loss? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
