Josh Briggs was not going to sit by and let Grayson Waller bad mouth his friend Fallon Henley. Tonight, Waller will face one of his biggest challenges yet, as he faces the hard hitting former Evolve Champion. Next week, he will be cheering on his friend Tiffany Stratton in the finals of the NXT Women’s Breakout tournament, but tonight he shows why he’s being viewed as a top star in the future of WWE.
Josh Briggs Takes His Eyes Off The Prize
Briggs would start by grabbing the wrist of Waller, before striking him down. Clubbing blows to the back and shoulder tackle would follow, before Briggs slipped out of the ring and punched Waller in the face between the ropes as he caught his breath. Waller nailed some fast kicks, before some cravat trapped knee strikes to the face.
Briggs would take the jumping elbow drop, before Waller wasted time being cocky. He’d take a back drop, before Robert Stone & Sofia Cronwell would make their way down. Where they are, Von Wagner is. Wagner came onto the apron, and Briggs took him down with a big boot before taking the rolling stunner for the finish.
Wagner would beat Briggs down, revenge for Briggs trying to get even last week. Brooks Jensen with one good hand would save his partner, but this one is far from over.
Cameron Grimes Nets Big Win Ahead Of Upcoming PPV
This Saturday at NXT 2.0: In Your House, Cameron Grimes is going to defend the NXT North American Championship against Carmelo Hayes. Tonight, he tunes himself up as he takes on someone he views as a better version of Hayes, with newcomer Nathan Frazer. Grimes will be wise to not overlook Frazer here tonight, as he could risk that North American Championship match becoming another big triple threat this weekend with a loss.
Both men would trade wrist locks, but were able to flip to freedom. Grimes would block an arm drag before an armbar attempt. Frazer would escape before hitting a dropkick. Grimes was sent outside, but avoided the dive and nailed a PK off the apron.
Back into the ring, Grimes would maintain control before being driven face first into the turnbuckle. Grimes went for a German Suplex, but Frazer landed on his feet and hit the springboard moonsault to set up a Final Cut. Frazer would follow up with a superkick, before Grimes would plant him with a uranage.
Both men traded blows in the middle of the ring, before Grimes went for a powerbomb and was countered into a hurricanrana for a two count. Grimes headed out of the ring, and Frazer followed him with a dive. Back in the ring, Grimes would hit the Cave In and show that just three seconds of a match mater sometimes. After the bell, Hayes would attack, but Grimes would almost get the upper hand and Williams made the save.
