Fans have mocked Prince William and Kate Middleton’s nicknames for each other.
Kate Middleton’s Nickname For William Has Fans In Stitches-‘Big Willy’
Nicknames have become somewhat of a thing in the Royal family with Kate infamously being given the name ‘Waity Katie’ on the grounds that she had apparently become so desperate to marry Prince William.
In comparison, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have had rather simple nicknames by being referred to as ‘H or M’ in light of their first initials.
However, when it comes to William and Kate, they have had some rather unique nicknames for each other to say the least. According to reports, Kate would refer to William as “Big Willy” during the course of their time at university.
While it was not being used in a negative sense, the very fact of the matter is that Willy does have some negative connotations. One being the fact that it is a euphemism for a penis.
Much in the same way, William had a nickname for the Duchess of Cambridge too. It is alleged that he would refer to her as ‘Duchess of Dolittle.’
Speculation has emerged that this was in reference to reports that Queen Elizabeth II had allegedly questioned Kate’s lack of a career in her younger years. Irrespective of the rationale for the names, the fans on social media had a field day with them.
A certain subset of people could not help but troll the couple, while others began to make running jokes with the use of other names they had come up with. One person wrote: “It’s never the C word?”
While another person stated: “Baldy and Broodmare?” It is safe to say that this is not the finest nicknames they could have given each other, but given how their marriage turned out, they will not be minding one bit.
