Jon Moxley is someone who will never step down from a fight. Even after meeting Hiroshi Tanahashi in the main event of Forbidden Door, or entering Blood & Guts just days later. Tonight, he will face the victor of the Royal Rampage match on AEW Rampage, and defend his Interim AEW World Championship tonight in Rochester.
Brody King is the last man you want to face when you’re not at 100%, but that is who Moxley has to contend with tonight. Moxley however knows he can do this. He’s a man who did Blood & Guts for fun, and will battle tooth and nail to remain interim champion tonight.
Brody King Brings The Fight
Jon Moxley hit the ring and stared down the tattooed monster he will face tonight – and showed zero fear. Moxley is the best wrestler in the world today, and King will need to wrestle the match of his career to get the win tonight. They’d lock up in the ring, and a single strike from King would send Moxley down to the mat.
Moxley got back up and into the face of King, before throwing some strikes and being tossed from the ring. King tried to run down Moxley, before Moxley side stepped and sent him into the ring steps. A russian leg sweep into the barricade would follow, before King would flop Moxley onto the ramp.
Moxley would be thrown over the timekeepers table, but back in the ring – would hit the dragon screw. Figure Four would be applied, but King broke free. Moxley would continue to attack the leg however, only to be dropped with the Boss Man Slam for a two count. King followed up with a slam on the floor, before choking Moxley on the ropes.
Jon Moxley Chokes King Out
Moxley would be stiffened with a chop, and King kept the heavy blows coming. However, Moxley would also keep getting up. Elbows to the head would fight free of a Death Valley Driver attempt, before he’d avoid the Cannonball Senton in the corner.
Moxley would nail a superplex, before a Dragon Suplex. King would nail a heavy lariat and piledriver in response, before the hangman’s sleeper hold in the corner. Cannonball Senton would follow, but Moxley would block with a roll up before snap Paradigm Shift. Hammer & Anvil elbows would land, before sleeper hold was applied.
King would crash Moxley into the mat to break the hold, but Moxley grabbed the choke again and moved to the Bulldog Choke for the win! After the bell, Brody King got a standing ovation from the fans – and Malakai Black would come to ringside to encourage his ally, only for Darby Allin & Sting to walk up – potentially setting up a tag match for Fyter Fest.
