Fans have reacted to a video showing Prince William swearing during the course of a Wimbledon match.
Prince William SLAMMED For Swearing At Wimbledon-‘Nothing Cool About Using The F Word’
William happened to be in attendance with Kate Middleton, as they watched British tennis player Cameron Norrie take on David Goffin.
In a match that offered many twists and turns, Norrie ended up coming out on top in a five-set thriller. In the process of doing so, Norrie will take on one of tennis’ all-time greats Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals.
And given that Norrie was the last British man in the tournament, there was a lot on the line. And so it showed in the following video.
In the clip here, we can see that William is worried about the prospect of Norrie losing the match. And in a moment frustration, the Duke of Cambridge drops the f-bomb.
This naturally got many people talking. William was criticised on the basis that his etiquette was not fitting for a member of the Royal family.
And given that there were ultimately young people watching the sport, he should have been more mindful of his language. Secondly, others argued that there was no reason for him to act in such a manner.
After all, it would have made much more sense to continue to support Norrie than add to the already tense atmosphere. One person wrote: “Nothing cool about using the f word.
“Unfortunately today it’s used in most sentences by some of the younger generation,” while another person stated: “My take on it too..like his grandfather!”
In reality, sports can have the impact of getting the better of people. And in the case of William, he was no exception to that. The only issue is that unfortunately the cameras were on hand to capture that moment.
But now that it has been put out in the public domain, there is no way of getting around that. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
