Spirit Airlines Plane’s Landing Gear Catches Fire Upon Entry
When the Spirit Airlines plane touched down, flames kicked up around the landing gear. Passengers would see and smell smoke and the expected occurred. People started to get worried, some began heading for the exit before flight attendants had to step in and request that they remain seated and not block the aisle.
Obviously, safety first as things could’ve gone much worse. However, this is a closed area that people can’t escape easily when there’s fire. The passengers’ reaction and panic make sense but if professionals say that it’s fine, it’s for their safety as attempting to escape could’ve resulted in “Tragedy on the Tarmac” reports.
The passengers and flight crew would make it to the gate in one piece. It should go without saying but listen to flight attendants and the captain in situations like this. Panic and sending out last texts and words to the world can result in passengers missing important information that might not be repeated.
Spirit Airlines would later say that the fire started because the plane’s brakes became overheated during the landing process.
