Both Athena & Kris Statlander are looking for a shot at the TBS Champion, Jade Cargill. However, they’re working tonight in a tag team match – taking on the Renegade Twins. The Baddies will be watching closely, and could look to sabotage this match to take out Jade’s two largest threats.
Athena & Kris Statlander Don’t Waste Time Getting The Win
The Regenedages would be nearly identical as Statlander & Athena hit dropkicks. They’d sent them into each other before a senton hit both. A double team Codebreaker took down one of the twins, before a backdrop driver.
Athena would head to the top rope, and nailed O-Face for the win. They don’t get paid by the hour – and Athena looked absolutely dominant. After the match, Lelia Gray would come to the ring to mouth off to Athena, before being taken down by Statlander & Athena. Keira Hogan & Jade looked to make the save, and we’d get the TBS Champion standing tall.
The Acclaimed Run The Gunn Club Out Of The Ring
Gunn Club showed their true colours recently, as they stabbed The Acclaimed in the backs. Even Billy Gunn would beat down Anthony Bowens, a man he’s grown close to lately. Tonight on AEW Rampage, they will explain their actions.
Tony Schiavone would try to lead the interview – and would ask what is happening between these teams. Billy said that everyone loves The Acclaimed, including him – but there comes a time when order needs to be restored.
Before more could be said, The Acclaimed in the ring for a fight. Billy would try to bury the hatchet, and was dropped with a superkick before Austin & Colton were sent from the ring. Caster got the microphone, said that Billy Gunn is big but hung like a tadpole – before asking for Austin & Colton to come fight. The match won’t come tonight, but it’ll be sooner than later.
Early AEW Tag Team Rematch
With new AEW World Tag Team Champions, the tag team division is open for new challengers to rise up the ranks. Swerve In Our Glory will be watching closely, as Private Party locks up with former champions The Lucha Bros. Andrade El Idolo is also guiding Private Party here tonight, as he looks to remove an obstacle in the path of La Faccion Ingobernable – who recently stole masks off the heads of Lucha Bros.
Kassidy would run Penta into the corner. Quen would get some strikes in, before Penta would cartwheel away from the hurricanrana. Lucha Bros would have a miscue and kick each other, before being sent from the ring and dropped with a big dive.
Quen missed the 450 Splash – before Lucha Bros would kick him down. Silly String would land on Penta, before a double springboard stunner took down Fenix on the apron. Private Party would beat Penta down, but were too close to the ropes for a pinfall.
Lucha Bros Claim The Win
Penta would be thrown into the corner, with Kassidy hitting some shoulder tackles before Quen applied the rear chinlock. Some heavy strikes would be followed by Quen gyrating above Penta, before Private Party kept the pressure on.
Fenix would get the tag however and stomped out Kassidy before a leg drop with Quen on his back for a Gory Bomb. Overhand chops would follow, before Private Party set up and hit a Doomsday Device. Fenix was now the one isolated, but he’d make the long walk to his corner.
Penta would hit Made In Japan on Quen for a near fall, before Andrade & Rush got involved. Quen would still somehow take a Canadian Destroyer and Black Fire Driver for the finish.
