‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers here and we’re set to kick off a new week with some fun spoilery goodies to share.
After showing some life last week that was badly botched, we’re heading back into the realm of safe storylines as relationships kick off the week for us.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Monday, August 1: Reality check
After finding yet another way to fail at delivery in the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) storyline, the writers are following the lazy death with a safe angle we expect will rely heavily on Ashland’s death.
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is willing to do anything to prove Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) is evil, but before she can try to sabotage Diane, she’ll attempt to reach Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) again.

‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers think she’s going to point to how Ashland had everyone fooled with his lies and how he reacted when caught.
Phyllis will point out Diane will do the same thing (and with these writers we have no doubt), but Jack won’t be so quick to buy in.
After Diane helped Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) understand Ashland’s death, he won’t be so ready to throw her under the bus. Besides, he’ll point out it’s Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor)’s decision.
Phyllis won’t like that, so she’ll continue with her plan to set Diane up, and we’re sure that’ll blow up in her face like most of her plans do.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Monday, August 1: Power struggle
We’ve been waiting for Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) to start butting heads harder and more frequently since Nate went off script and followed his gun instinct, and it looks like it’s about to happen.
Devon is super protective of his family’s business as shown when he resisted Lily Winters (Christel Khalil)’s attempt to merge their companies.
His careful and conservative nature was on full display when he lost his billions and practically did nothing as he waited.
Nate is a more dynamic thinker in that he’s willing to push the envelop to get the most out of a situation.
In a way, it’s what we’d expect from a doctor as standing back and watching a patient side instead of doing something isn’t what they do.
Add in how Nate’s learning his way through the business world and is taking chances Devon would never consider, and we’re in for a fun ride as they struggle with who is at the top of the company.
How far will Devon and Nate go in their competition? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation.
