When it comes to singles matches, SANADA & Tama Tonga are tied historically with a 2-2 record. Both men are equally driven to claim two more points here tonight, with SANADA having won his last two matches – and can’t afford to fall anymore behind. Tama Tonga meanwhile is nearly on the bubble – with a 1-1 record in this tournament tournament, and only three matches to go following SANADA tonight. Slow starts are starting to cause people to fall behind, with Tomohiro Ishii taken out of the running earlier in the show.

SANADA & Tama Tonga Instantly Bring The Fight

SANADA would kick things off with a wrist lock, before Tama would move into the rear waist lock. Hammerlock would be the counter, before Tama fought free. SANADA offered a handshake, but it was a ruse – and Tama narrowly avoided the Paradise Lock. Tama would hit some arm drags before a dropkick.

Sunset Flip would be blocked, and Tama would be put into the Paradise Lock in the middle of the ring. SANADA would free Tama with a dropkick, before a snap suplex for the near fall. Tama would take the snap jabs from SANADA before being thrown into the corner – and blasting his way free with a big lariat to get back into the fight.

He’d leapfrog SANADA before another dropkick, before the backdrop for a two count. Tongan Twist would be countered, before SANADA nailed a dropkick of his own – and a plancha down to the floor. Back into the ring, a TKO attempt would be blocked right into the Tongan Twist.

    It Just Takes One GunStun

Death Valley Bomb from Tama would set up that Supreme Flow splash – getting over half the ring and landing flush. SANADA would hit the springboard dropkick, before looking for the TKO again. He’d land it this time, before Tama got his knees up on a moonsault attempt.

Tama would look for the GunStun – but would get caught into the Skull End, and was only narrowly able to get the rope break. They’d trade blows in the middle of the ring – with Tama nailed an uppercut forearm – before Valano DDT for the near fall.

Gun Stun was blocked again, and the O’Conner Roll would only get two. Tama would shoot for the Gun Stun again, and it finally landed – granting him the victory. Tama is on a good path this tournament – and has a max of ten points possible.
