According to Meta, the mother company for Facebook and Instagram has reported that the mole Andrew Tate has been removed from the social media platforms. Official Meta sources confirm that the permanent banning of the rising Youtuber was due to violating their policies.
There is a special guideline in Meta’s policy that cites – ‘Dangerous Individuals And Organisations’ to be removed from the platform since they present a menace to society.
Youtuber Misogynist Andrew Tate Banned From Facebook And Instagram – You Are Not Going To Poison The Youth Anymore!
Andrew Tate has gained a lot of popularity after participating in the ‘Big Brother‘ show and became a star on social media. He is popular mostly because of his completely controversial opinions. Opinions that he is not afraid to advocate and spread among his followers. Most of his speeches surround the topic of male and female roles in society. Thus, most of his opinions have a label of being misogynistic.
At the time of the ban, Andrew had more than 4.6 million followers on Instagram. His popularity skyrocketed once he became popular on TikTok where a video of him was shared until reaching more than 13 billion views.
White Ribbon is a charity that works to end violence against women. They take place in the process of silencing Tate as well. Last week they sent an official request to TikTok to cancel Tate and remove particular videos of him from the platform because they are extremely misogynistic. According to them, these types of videos ‘poison the youth’ and have a ‘long time effect on the younger generation’.
“We, on TikTok will not tolerate misogyny and other hateful ideologies and behaviors. We are working to review this content and take action against violations of our guidelines.” – a TikTok official says for MailOnline.
Several occasions opened Meta’s eyes making them realize how big and how wrong Tate’s influence is. Abbie Chatfield, a TV personality, made it public the type of messages she had been receiving from Tate fans. This is one of the turning points for taking action against him.
“I’m getting DMs from what appears to be early teen boys, saying ‘I hope Andrew Tate destroys you.” – Abbie explains. “I also get comments calling me Abby Tate, comments on TikTok especially. That’s where it’s really rife.”
Andrew Tate released a statement as a response to Abbie recently and accused her fans of bullying him on social media. “Everyone has an opinion and open discourse is very important for society to find the truth.” – Tate explains.
“I receive 10,000 hateful messages a day from her fans also. She has caused me more hate than I’ve ever caused her. Truthfully I wish nobody received any hateful messages at all and we could discuss issues openly without fear. I wish her the best in all aspects of her life!”
Tate rose to popularity when on the Big Brother show. One of the first shots of him is where he is hitting a female contender with a belt. He says that it was all consensual. However, he receives a great backlash on it after releasing a statement that rape victims are responsible for rape as well.
What do you think? Is this a violation of the freedom of speech, or is it righteous?
