Tristan Thompson has reportedly been paying child support for his son, Theo, whom he welcomed with Maralee Nichols.
Serial Cheater Tristan Thompson Confirms He Has Been Making Child Support Payments To Maralee Nichols
This claim is in stark contrast to earlier reports by Maralee, as her representatives argued that Thompson had not been stepping up to the plate.
And as Thompson has recently welcomed a second child with Khloé Kardashian via a surrogate, his conduct did appear hypocritical.
After all, he could not justify being close to one child but ignoring the other. With that being said, Tristan’s legal team have cleared up any misconceptions that have emerged.
His attorney confirmed as much: “[Thompson] is paying, and has paid, child support to Ms. Nichols retroactive to the date she delivered the child.” Nevertheless, there is still more that Tristan could do.
As of now, he has not been so vocal about his son, as shown by the absence of any social media photos. This is in contrast to the way that Thompson has been pictured with his daughter, True, that he has with Khloé.
Not only that, but spending quality time is ultimately the factor that will win Maralee over. That is not to say that child support is not important, but given the millions that Tristan has at his disposal, it is hardly going to break the bank balance.
A prior source had stated the following: “Tristan is very absent from Theo’s life. He hasn’t met Theo nor has he initiated any meetings. He doesn’t have any immediate plans to meet his son face to face.”
It is not surprising that the fans on social media did not view Tristan too kindly. A certain subset of people felt this was the minimum that he should have been doing anyway.
One person wrote: “Breaking news: man does bare minimum to support child he fathered while willingly having unprotected sex. The bar is in hell.”
It is fair to say that Tristan has a long way to go before he wins people over. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
