Meghan Markle has hit out at her critics after she was deemed ambitious for dating Prince Harry.
D-List Actress Meghan Markle Outraged After Suggestions Duchess Of Sussex Was Too Ambitious For Dating Harry-‘Apparently Ambition Is A Terrible Thing’
This revelation arrived on Meghan’s ‘Archetypes’ podcast that aired on Spotify. During the course of that process, the Duchess of Sussex was speaking with Serena Williams over the perceived double standards when it comes to women being viewed with ambition.
And as part of that process, Meghan admitted that she only saw ambition in a negative way when she started dating Harry. After all, there would have been a perception over why a TV actress would end up with a member of the Royal Family.
And those judgements were hard for Meghan to take. In her comments, she said: “[I don’t] ever remember personally feeling the negative connotation behind the word ambitious, until I started dating my now husband.
“And apparently ambition is a terrible, terrible thing. For a woman that is, according to some. So since I felt the negativity behind it, It’s really hard to unfeel it.”

Nevertheless, Meghan’s aspirations did pay off. She has managed to forge a life of independence with Harry away from the royals which has been accompanied by lucrative Spotify and Netflix deals.
Although that may have been the case, not everyone has been happy to see Meghan do well. And one such person was none other than royal expert Angela Levin.
The former made it very clear that Meghan would have been nothing without the Royal Family, which is why her shade was not needed. In her comments, Levin remarked: “She would still be a D-list celebrity if she had not married a prince.
“She aligns herself with them [Serena Williams and next podcast guest Mariah Carey], but they have done brilliantly and overcome difficult childhood, whereas she has married a prince and spent a lot of money.”
