WWE Friday Night SmackDown is on tonight once again! And whether you expected it or not, the one and only Bill Goldberg will be making a special appearance here tonight! My name is Jordan Huie, you are here visiting the Overtimer and tonight, like many other nights on the wrestling week, you’ll be getting the full coverage of the show, which goes on live in less than an hour as of this writing! That means a recap and results from the show moments after the conclusion of each segment! Plus, previews of everything to come here tonight! There’s apparently a fair bit more to talk about than usual here this evening too so I should really get going! Let’s get started on these previews!
Bill Goldberg To Appear Tonight On WWE Friday Night SmackDown!
So yeah, earlier this week, in a remarkably casual way, WWE just sorta dropped this one on us. Bill Goldberg, who has not been seen on WWE television since his utter destroying of Dolph Ziggler back at SummerSlam, is going to be appearing here tonight! They teased that he’d be letting us know what’s next for him and I believe pretty much flat-out stated that he’d be in some kind of match at WWE Super Show-Down in Saudi Arabia in twenty days. So basically, he’s gonna be coming out here tonight to tell us who’s next.
Now this could be a lot of people. I feel like smart money is on King Corbin coming out to make a fool of himself during this segment, maybe letting Roode and Ziggler eat spears on his behalf, setting up a match. Be it a one-on-one or some kind of handicap affair. I also brought up in the Firefly Funhouse preview that Goldberg is maybe the most legitimate serious next challenger Bray might have, assuming he won’t be facing Roman until WrestleMania.
But then, there’s also the possibility of Roman Reigns himself making a special challenge… he did rather randomly knock Goldberg out of nowhere on Twitter recently. It’s kinda unlike Roman to take potshots like that, especially one with as little basis as that had, so it’s entirely in the realm of possibility that it was purely done to set this appearance up. Maybe he’ll be calling out the Big Dog? We’ll have to wait and see…
