WWE Friday Night SmackDown is on tonight once again! We’ve got a women’s fatal four way between Alexa Bliss, Naomi, Carmella and Dana Brooke here tonight with the winner facing Bayley for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship! I am Jordan Huie, of the Overtimer and on this Friday night, like many other nights on the wrestling week, you’ll be getting the full coverage of the show, which goes on live in less than ten minutes as of this writing! That means a recap and results from the show moments after the segments conclude! Plus, previews of everything to come! We’re almost done with the previews for tonight so let’s get started!
Alexa Bliss vs. Carmella vs. Dana Brooke vs. Naomi
Yes… this is, in fact, the only match that I had to get to in tonight’s previews. They advertised plenty of segments for this edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, but it seems this fatal four way was the only match they could come up with. Five pre-announced segments on a card of one! Kinda funny, but WWE television be that way sometimes… anyway, we’ve got a high stakes four way match here. Perhaps even moreso than we’re led to believe…
The four women listed above will do battle for a shot at WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley. Now of course, as is often the case, this was announced with a vague No. 1 Contendership stipulation, no mention of when said match would actually be taking place. But ever since Lacey Evans and Natayla ended sexism forever by getting onto the WWE Crown Jewel card, I’ve been assuming WWE would be just chomping at the bit to put on the first Women’s Title match in Saudi Arabia, just to set themselves up for the endless back-patting.
It would be a pretty major spot to get in, no doubt. So if the winner of this match is indeed heading to Saudi Arabia in twenty days, this is a bout with a lot on the line. To be honest, you’d probably also wanna christen such an occasion with a babyface title victory, even if just a short-lived one for the night that ends before we even get to Mania… either way. Naomi is the clear direction for Bayley at this point in time, so I’ll pick her to win.
