It’s been quite the ride, but we’re at the finals of the AEW World Trios Championship tournament. First team to qualify was The Elite, with a returning Kenny Omega taking The Young Bucks to the finals. They took down La Faccion Ingobernable and United Empire to make the finals. Second team to qualify was Dark Order, as John Silver & Alex Reynolds snuck past House of Black, and had Hangman Page step in to assist them in outworking The Best Friends. Now, after turning down The Young Bucks offer to joing them for the tournament – Hangman Page goes against his former allies, with history on the line.
Hangman Page Shuts Down Momenteum Of Dark Order, Before Paying For The Mistake
Page & Nick would kick this match off, and it was a stalemate between the old friends. Reynolds & Matt would turn this one into a scrap, and this one would get heated as Silver & Reynolds went after the historically bad lower back of Matt. Page would try to be the voice of reason, and Kenny Omega would get the tag. These former partners and rivals would meet in the middle of the ring for the first time since Page took the AEW World Championship from Omega, and the crowd went insane.
They’d lock up, before Silver would tag himself in and went after the arm of Omega. Page would be a bit angry at this – and Reynolds would follow up. Silver & Reynolds were picking apart Omega, and Page would tag himself in -prompting Reynolds to say “We’re trying to win.”.
Page would turn it up with some chops and a big boot, before the Fallaway Slam on Omega. Matt would trip Page up, before a superkick to the face. Omega held him in place as Nick hit the 450 Splash, before Young Bucks dove onto Dark Order. The elbow drop would land, and Page kicked out at two.
Page would be isolated in the corner, and there was no one slowing down the momentum due to a bleeding heart on The Elite side. They’d work as a trio, hitting the Kotoro Crusher and combo neckbreaker. Page would set up the rolling fireman carry, but Page would break free and hit the Death Valley Driver. Silver would get the tag and run wild, taking down Matt, Omega, and Nakazawa, before a combo brainbuster on the floor with Reynolds.
The Elite Show Their Skills
Matt would be hit with the Spin Doctor in the middle of the ring – but Omega was there to make the save. Both Silver & Reynolds took a Northern Lights Suplex, and Omega would get the tag. Flying crossbody would land before some snap dragon suplexes on Reynolds & Page – but Silver countered.
Omega would be kicked in the face, but Silver would take his snap dragon. The Elite would run Silver down in the corner, before he dodged. Omega would be the one trapped – before the Stunner into the German Suplex into the Jacknife pin, but Omega was able to kick out at two.
Omega would hit the V-Trigger, sending Silver from the ring – before setting up the Terminator Dive. He’d get all of the dive, before The Elite would look for a buckle bomb and it backfired. Reynolds would hit the backstabber, and Page the moonsault to the floor. It was a three on one attack in the ring from Dark Order with the Pendulum Bomb.
Crowing The New Champions After A Miscue
Silver, Reynolds, Matt & Nick would hit a four way superkick in the ring. Page & Omega would meet again, with Page taking the V-Trigger & Tiger Driver ‘98. Omega would take the Moonsault Slam from the top in response, but Page was unable to get the pinfall. Buckshot Lariat to the back of the head would land, and Omega stumbled back up.
Matt would make the save, before Nick hit the Buckshot and the BTE Trigger for a two count, Reynolds making the save. V-Trigger would fail, before Silver hit the Gamiguri. Reynolds would stop a superkick party, and Silver nearly got the roll up win.
Rolling Lariat was blocked with a V-Trigger, before Silver countered One Winged Angel into a near fall with a cradle pin. Hangman Page tried for the Buckshot, but got Silver instead. Young Bucks held him back – and Omega got the pinfall for the victory.
