We stumbled upon the story of a Wisconsin prison supervisor having a sexual relationship with an inmate earlier this week. The situation involving the charged supervisor, Jacqueline Heidt, is pretty involved.
There is a twist and other details in this story that help to explain the 20 counts of sexual assault, misconduct in public office, and the smuggling.
Who Is the Inmate and How Long Were They Involved?
Jacqueline Heidt (37) was involved with Travis Jones (37) between April and August 2022. In 2015, Jones was convicted of two counts of second-degree sexual assault with the use of force and one count of kidnapping. The charges are all Class C felony offenses.
According to the Racine County Eye, he was sentenced to “20 years confinement and 10 years supervision for each of the sexual assault charges consecutive to the five years confinement and five years of supervision on the kidnapping charge.”
Jones isn’t getting out until 2059, according to the Eye and he’d be on supervision for 25 years after his release. Chances of him getting out were slim.
When officials truly found out about the relationship was almost a week earlier on August 18, 2022. Prior to this, Jones suffered an overdose and received treatment. While questioning the inmate, investigators found his cellphone and a treasure trove of evidence including nudes and text messages between Jones and Heidt.
Disgraced Prison Supervisor Jacqueline Heidt Was Allegedly Pregnant with Inmate’s Child
Things would become messier as he was questioned about Heidt being pregnant with his child. He explained that the relationship just happened, they didn’t use protection, and he actually received ultrasounds from Heidt.
According to Jones, Heidt initially wanted to keep the child. Sealing the case against Heidt is Jones’ description of her body matching her husband’s.
The inmate also went into how often they would meet up. As previously mentioned, it was three or four times a week and authorities charged Heidt with 20 counts of second-degree sexual assault by correctional staff and misconduct in public office.
Evidence confirming Heidt’s involvement was found after a search warrant on her van turned up the phone that she used in contacting Travis Jones.
Jacqueline Heidt is due for her preliminary hearing on September 21, 2022.
