Is Nate Diaz eyeing a third fight against Conor McGregor? Although the UFC veteran and Ultimate Fighter alumnus last faced the Irish superstar in 2016, the pair are 1-1 in two fights, and rumors have swirled over the past six years about whether, if ever, they would face one another in the Octagon again. Now, with Nate Diaz only days away from the final fight on his UFC contract, Diaz told Inside Fighting that he’ll fight Conor McGregor again. One day.
“The timing’s not on right now. We’ll worry about that later. It’s for sure going to happen at some point. Yeah, at some point. He needs to get back on what he’s got to do, whatever that is. It’s like, when we match up, we’re going to match up. But we ain’t going nowhere.”
Diaz: McGregor Trilogy Will Happen “For Sure”
Perhaps McGregor vs Diaz 3 will take place under Nate Diaz’s new promotional banner, Real Fight Inc. Diaz launched Real Fight Inc. this week, and declared that his appearance against Chimaev at UFC 279 will be the first page in the Real Fight Inc chapter of Diaz’s story.
“I’ve been a promoter of my own self and everything I’ve done has been promoted off of me. Yeah, I’ve been promoting my own fights the whole time, and the company’s not pushign me as hardcore as they push other people.
When we do a show, and whenever it could be, it could be the best fighters, the realest fighters, the realest things that people want to see. Whatever I think is interesting, that’s what we want to do.
Whatever it is, whatever I do, it’s gonna be the realest shit that you’re gonna see. No phony, no goofy sh*t, just stay tuned. No matter what I do, where I go, what I’m doing, I’m just gonna put on what I wanna see.

Nate Diaz will face Khamzat Chimaev in the headlining bout for UFC 279 this Saturday night. It will mark the end of Nate Diaz’s UFC career, which has spanned multiple decades and some of the biggest events in the sport. Whether he can be enticed back for a third McGregor fight – perhaps as a crossover event with Real Fight Inc. – is a matter for another time.
