Prince Harry was allowed to wear a military uniform in order to mourn the death of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, but it was missing the Queen’s symbols. As we can see in the picture, his uniform looked very different than the rest of his family.

There were suggestions that the Duke of Sussex would initially not be allowed this privilege since it was only reserved to those that were working royals.
While that may have been the case, this line of thinking came under heavy scrutiny especially since Prince Andrew was given the ability to do so.
And given that he had been accused of sexual assault by Virginia Guiffre, there was obvious question marks over why Harry would not be allowed to wear the uniform when Andrew’s conduct had caused more controversy.
With that being said, it seems there has now been a change of heart. A source confirmed the following: “The Duke of Sussex has served his country and is a highly respected member of the armed forces with everything he has done for veterans.
“It is important that the Queen’s grandchildren are all made to feel welcome and comfortable as they grieve their beloved grandmother together.”
This is another step in the right direction for a potential reconciliation between the Sussexes and the royals.
They had taken a huge step to doing this when they reunited to walk together with Prince William and Kate Middleton at Windsor in paying their respects to Queen Elizabeth II.
And one thing that this period of mourning has shown is that the family has been able to put their differences aside.
Nevertheless, once the funeral proceedings are over, fans will be wondering if the Sussexes will now have a different approach towards the royals.
We cannot forget that Harry’s tell-all memoir is still potentially in the pipeline. Not only that, but Meghan’s Spotify podcast is also something that still has some way to go.
