Lately, Cora Jade has been getting a bit of an ego in the NXT Women’s division, and it’s about time for a wake up call. Wendy Choo is more than happy to give Jade that, as they meet in a singles match tonight. Choo was not shy in tearing into the character of Jade on a recent episode of NXT 2.0, and Jade might well be coming into this one with a hot head.
Cora Jade Claims The Victory
Jade would quickly take Choo down to the mat into the headscissor, before Choo broke free and applied the headlock. Choo would be thrown off the ropes, and came back with a shoulder tackle. Jade would take a dropkick to the face, before being able to choke Choo on the bottom rope.
Pressing the advantage – Jade would apply a double arm clutch, but Choo broke free with an arm drag. Choo would hit some running lariats before a handspring elbow and a German Suplex. Jade was able to come back and hit a DDT – claiming the victory.
After the bell, Lash legend would hit the ring and hit a high heeled pump kick to the face of Wendy Choo – setting up a future match.
Carmelo Hayes Is Not Having A Good Night
Last week on NXT 2.0, Solo Sikoa would step up to Carmelo Hayes – and left with the NXT North American Championship. Even with Sikoa giving the belt up, Hayes wasn’t handed back the belt – instead needing to work to regain it in a ladder match. Hayes took none of this particularly well – and would come to the ring with intentions to speak his mind.
Williams would call last week an absolute farce – with Hayes calling for the referee, timekeeper, and whoever played Sikoa’s music to be followed. He doesn’t care what Bloodline Sikoa is from, because he’s still the A-Champion. After this, the music of Chase U would hit, to a massive reaction.
Chase saw what happened last week, and it was a teachable moment. Hayes would say this is not the time, and they wanted to hear anything but the truth. This would turn into a brawl, and the bell would ring to make this match official. Chase would catch Williams with a hip toss – before Hayward would take the fight to Hayes.
Williams & Hayes would be gain the brief advantage, before taking a running shoulder tackle. Chase would hit the Russian Leg Sweep, before the Chase U stomps with the fans going wild. How over Chase U is in the CWC is amazing. Hayward would apply the Torture Rack – but Williams would get the tag to Hayes.
Springboard lariat would land, before Williams missed a lariat. Chase would hit the scoop slam, before going to the top rope. Williams was able to block, before Hayes went for a springboard and was caught in a cradle pin for a three count!
