Yep, I’mma be trying to kick this one up again… after a solid two months or so off, tonight we’ll be covering All Elite Wrestling’s secondary show, AEW Dark! We’ve got quite the underdogs here as QT Marshall & Peter Avalon take on the Young Bucks! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer and I’ll be giving you the same kind of coverage you can expect from any show, meaning the results, the recaps and of course the previews for everything you can expect to see! The show premieres on YouTube very shortly and I’ll be covering the aftermath very soon after! So let’s look at what’s on tap.
QT Marshall & Peter Avalon vs. The Young Bucks
So uh… bit of a mismatch, this one, eh? Granted, that’d be the case for Avalon & Marshall versus pretty much anybody else. But here in particular, the odds are stacked pretty dang high against them. Will we see a shock upset?! The biggest surprise victory in AEW history?! I wouldn’t bet on it… it’s cool though, it’s basically what both of them were signed for.
QT Marshall actually did himself getting pretty over in his lone Dynamite match. He was the one who teamed with Cody Rhodes against the Butcher and the Blade, basically setup as a tomato can for them to easily demolish. While he did indeed get pinned, he earned the respect of the AEW faithful first, giving the mercenaries a run for their money, capped off with the national television debut of the QT Marshall Special, a move that according to Excalibur is so ugly that he had to name it after himself. It’s a bit of a messy high flying move, but it really seems like it just adds to his underdog charm.
Peter Avalon on the other hand has not exactly been a hit, although the Librarian gimmick is basically the only one in all of AEW that seems specifically designed to not get over. And to that end, it’s succeeded~! Avalon’s effectively the Glass Joe of the place, existing to ensure that absolutely everybody has someone they can get a win against. The forces of these two men combined will no doubt lead to them getting a plethora of superkicks. The Young Bucks do like to put other teams over but, probably not sparing much thought to that this time. Bucks to win.
