In Nebraska, a teenage couple was arrested after they stabbed the girl’s father to death. On October 3, 2022, officers from the Lincoln PD responded to a stabbing incident at an apartment.
The victim was found deceased with “injuries consistent with being caused by a bladed instrument,” according to the police.
Teen Nebraska Couple Arrested in the Stabbing Death of GF’s Father
When the Lincoln PD released another statement on October 4, the suspects were revealed as Isaac Honigschmidt (16) and Sallie Gilmer (15), daughter of the 70-year-old victim Jesse Gilmer.
It was also mentioned that initially, Sallie Gilmer called 911 to report her father as dead and said that she returned home and found him.
However, authorities focused on the two teens during their investigation. In piecing October 3 together, the police found that Honigschmidt drove Gilmer home earlier in the day, Gilmer went inside and stabbed the elder Gilmer, then Honigschmidt drove her back to school.
Basically, they went to do the deed but had to show their faces at school during school hours. That’s the foundation of their alibi: they were in school during the murder.
Honigschmidt would drive Gilmer back home where she “found” her father stabbed to death and called 911.
According to authorities, Gilmer said that her home situation wasn’t ideal and that she was “stressed out from her parents’ constant fighting and Jesse’s mental abuse.”
The teens also began planning the murder a week earlier and that Honigschmidt gave Sallie the knife used in Jesse Gilmer’s death.
The two were charged as adults with Isaac Honigschmidt being charged with aiding/abetting first-degree murder. Sallie Gilmer was charged with first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
