Chris Jericho & Jon Moxley To Have Official Weigh-In For Their AEW World Title Match At Revolution
For months, we’ve been building to this. This Saturday at AEW Revolution, Chris Jericho defends the AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley. After overcoming hurdle after another, even barely defeating Jeff Cobb in his AEW debut last week, Mox finally has a clear shot to the gold on PPV. For my money, this has been the best build to a world title match that I’ve seen in a long, long time, with Moxley being among the best built challengers I’ve seen in my time watching. And Chris Jericho has made for a pretty incredible champion for AEW thus far, to say the least. It’s going to be something when they clash.
But they do have one last little stop here in the form of a weigh-in. Before AEW’s last PPV, Full Gear, Chris Jericho and Cody Rhodes had themselves a contract signing, which is pretty standard fare in wrestling, and they were able to make it feel pretty different. This time around, they’re ditching that to instead have a more sports-oriented weigh-in. Mind you, they’re doing this in a company with no weight limits. So there’s not really a ton of reason to do this, technically. But it’s something you can have a lot of fun with regardless. And they do still announce weights sometimes so hey.
It can be reasonably assumed at this point that anything Jericho does with Moxley will be some sort of trap. And really, the same can kinda go both ways. What will Jericho have up his sleeve this time? And how will Moxley deal with it? It seems impossible to think there won’t be fireworks between the two, especially this close to their title match.
