Right now, Jade Cargill is a champion without a belt – as Nyla Rose stole the belt from her recently. It seems likely they will clash for the belt at Full Gear, providing a major challenge for Cargill. However tonight, she faces an old foe with the belt on the line, as she defends the TBS Championship against the tag team partner of Nyla Rose, Marina Shafir. Shafir was an early challenger for the belt – and has improved since her first go at Cargill, and tonight could truly be a problem.
Jade Cargill Moves To 41-0 With Another Successful Defence, Nyla Rose Continues To Antagonize TBS Champion
Shafir came into this match having won seven of her last eight matches, while Cargill remains undefeated in her career. Rose would have hit the stage as the match began, offering her own commentary. Cargill would stomp Shafir into the corner, sending her out to the floor.
Rose nearly caused a count out with her distraction, but Cargill rushed back into the ring. Pump Kick and Jaded would follow, and Cargill moved to 41-0. On the stage, Kiera Hogan tried to reclaim the TBS Championship for Cargill, only to be run over by Rose.
Rumors Of Malakai Blacks Demise Were Greatly Exaggerated
Before we’d get to the main event – we’d see a new glimpse into the House of Black. Malakai Black & Buddy Matthews recently stepped away from AEW, leaving Brody King & Julia Hart as the sole members. However, they’d appear in a vignette claiming a rebirth is coming.
Death is just a beginning for House of Black. Malakai Black is back in AEW, and might be more dangerous than ever before. Buddy Matthews’ return has not yet been confirmed, but Black & King alone are a force to be reckoned with.
Samoa Joe & Brian Cage Go Blow For Blow
Samoa Joe is proving to be a hard man to take down when it comes to the ROH World Television Championship. Winning the belt from Minoru Suzuki, he’s since defended against Jay Lethal – and united with the TNT Champion, Wardlow. Tonight Joe is set to once again defend the belt, going one on one with The Machine Brian Cage. Cage since returning to AEW TV has been a force to be reckoned with, and tonight might well be the favourite as he looks to take the belt away from Joe.
Cage & Joe would clash with shoulder tackles as the match began, neither man wanting to give an inch. Joe would hit some jabs to send Cage into the corner – with Cage fighting free with elbow smashes. The enziguri in the corner from Joe would follow, before a chop to the neck, PK and elbow drop for a two count.
Cage would hit some shoulder thrusts in the corner, before a spinning kick to the jaw. Joe would be sent off the ropes and dropped with a hard lariat, before taking his signature enziguri in the corner, before being dumped on his head with a German Suplex. Camel Clutch would be applied, with Joe fighting to remain in the match.
Joe would hit a boot to the face in the corner, only for Cage to drop him again and apply the Rear Chinlock. Cage was unable to get the submission, as Joe rolled to the floor. Keeping the pressure on, Cage would hit a dive over the top rope crashing onto Joe, and rolling him right back into the ring.
Everyone Is The Same Size When They’re Getting Choked Out
Joe would hit some quick jabs before a chop to the throat. Manhattan Drop and running big boot was followed by a running senton, getting the champ a two count. Snap powerslam would get another near fall, before Joe would be hit with a 619 before a twisting elbow drop for a Cage near fall.
Weapon X Facebuster would see Joe spiked right on his face, yet was not enough to get the win. Joe would look for the Rear Naked Choke, but was blocked into a backdrop before taking a discus lariat. Cage would look to hit the F5, before again being taken into the Rear Naked Choke – and having no way to freedom, had to tap out.
After the bell, Gates of Agony would attack Samoa Joe once again. Wardlow would make the save, a familiar site in recent months. Powerhouse Hobbs would get in from behind, planting Wardlow with a spinebuster and holding the TNT Championship high.
