It was clear from the very beginning that the marriage between King Charles and Princess Diana is not a happy one. People saw it then, and there are testimonies by people present in the palace when the royal couple had arguments, claiming that the marriage was ‘highly explosive’. Explosive to the point where people listening to the ‘fights’ claimed they worried that someone would get hurt.
In the later period of their marriage, when it was completely obvious that there are some extramarital affairs going on, things were at their worse in the palace. One of the employees in the palace at the time told that he witnessed these fights. The upcoming biography of King Charles III by Christopher Andersen includes an interview with one of the valets in the palace. The valet told that he heard Princess Diana “hurling epithets and mocking her husband’s obsession with the dreary-looking Camilla.”

The valet has some very strange testimonies. He reveals that at one point, he remembers Princess Diana ‘pursuing’ King Charles ‘all around the palace’ asking him why he rejects to sleep with her.
“Why won’t you sleep with me?” – Princess Diana reportedly asked her husband on many occasions. According to the valet, King Charles decided to “intentionally and purposely call a halt to their sexual relationship.”
The reported case of ‘denying to sleep with her’ happened after the birth of Prince Harry in 1984. According to the valet, King Charles used various reasons to decline the offer for ‘having sex with the princess’. The one that shocked him most of them all is when King Charles told Princess Diana he might be gay.
“I don’t know, dear. I think I might be gay.” – the valet recalls King Charles saying to her.
King Charles complained that Princess Diana does not respect him enough. The valet says that he even asked her to give him the respect ‘his position warranted’. However, Princess Diana was a very hard nut to crack. She did not accept the fact that she cannot force anything and pushed King Charles even further from her.
When both argued over something, she would allegedly shout at him and bring everything she has against him at once. Allegedly, King Charles got really furious when she would do that. “‘Do you know who I am?” – he would ask her after she would attack him.
“Diana answered that he was a ‘f–king animal,’” – Andersen depicts this in his book. “You will never be King! William will succeed your mother. I will see to that.”
During Diana’s time in the palace, the tension was on the upraise constantly. As time passed, the relationship between these two worsened until it finally broke. We all know how it finished, but now, Andersen reveals that the process that led to that was not a pleasant sight as well.
“The clashes between Diana and Charles were now so raw that ‘violence seemed inevitable.’” – according to one of the palace’s security guards.
The most worrying detail about the fights between Princess Diana and King Charles is that the palace where they stayed was ‘packed’ with all sorts of weapons. Hunting rifles, pistols, shotguns, etc. It had it all. Luckily, the situation did not escalate to the point that they used some of it.
“The detectives in charge of protecting members of the royal family were deeply concerned that ‘in the heat of anger,’ any one of these could be used to commit suicide, homicide or both.” – according to the biographer Andersen.
Princess Diana and King Charles married in 1981. Their relationship was not as it should ever since they said their ‘Yes’. According to royal writers and analysts, King Charles married Princess Diana because his father, Prince Philip pressured him into it. King Charles took on this stance of ‘not receiving the respect he deserves’ from Diana ever since he proposed to her. According to the book, the fact that Princess Diana giggled childishly throughout the proposal for marriage frustrated him greatly. He called the reaction ‘juvenile and unnerving’.
Princess Diana on the other hand quickly realized that King Charles does not love her at all. She got aware that her soon-to-be husband is already in love with his mistress Camilla Parker-Bowles.
“Consumed by anger and frustration, both bride and groom separately cried themselves to sleep the night before the wedding.” – Christopher Andersen reveals this in the book.
Even though at the beginning they didn’t give an impression of an unhappy couple, they certainly didn’t prefer to be together. According to the book, they didn’t sleep together ever since their wedding. The repulsion that King Charles felt for Princess Diana is the initial thing that led to their split.
King Charles and Princess Diana officially split in 1992. However, their divorce did not come until 1996. When they settled down with everything, and when it seemed like both of them will continue with their separate lives, Princess Diana died in a tragic accident in Paris, at an age of 36.
Numerous conspiracy theories surrounded the accident. People conspire that someone staged the accident, that a bomb in the car caused it, and that someone shot the car from inside the tunnel. However, there is no proof that this is true until this day.
King Charles sat on the throne this year, after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. His coronation will take place on the 6th of May 2023. Ever since his split from Diana, he is together with his mistress, now Queen Consort Camilla.
