In another trip to Singapore, we have a particularly large drug bust that was a part of the one-week, country-wide raid. This bust saw a 17-year-old arrested with 371g of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Queenstown on November 7, 2022. Authorities took an additional 36g from his residence later.
17-Year-Old and Two Women Arrested in Separate Busts During Country-Wide Drug Raids in Singapore
The weight that the teen had was below 500g meaning he escaped the risk of the death penalty. In Jurong West, two women—aged 27 and 30—were arrested on November 8. The 27-year-old woman was found with 330g of marijuana, 86g of meth, 43g of ecstasy tabs, and 60 LSD stamps.
Again, according to the Central Narcotics Bureau, all of that was found on the woman. It’s not specified if it was in a vehicle or just at a site where she used that wasn’t their hideout.
Speaking of hideouts, as with the 17-year-old’s case, CNB authorities were led back to their hideout by the suspects themselves. The CNB detailed the total amount seized:
“The women were later escorted to their hideout in the same vicinity. A total of about 281g of ice, 456g of cannabis, 344g of ketamine, 77g of ecstasy tablets, 548 Erimin-5 tablets, 110 LSD stamps and 12 bottles of liquid suspected to contain GHB were further seized.”
It’s a massive amount and the weight of the meth (ice) is definitely death penalty weight. The duo floated over squarely into death penalty weight after CNB authorities found 756g of marijuana, 56g each of meth and ecstasy tabs, and 36 LSD stamps. They also found the 30-year-old’s daughter in the apartment during the raid. She was placed in the care of relatives.
