Elon Musk brought ex-President Donald Trump back to Twitter on Saturday, the 19th of November. After being banned for two years from the ‘greatest platform’ in the world, Donald Trump is back. Elon Musk arranged a poll on Friday, putting it up to the public to decide if he should bring the controversial ex-president back to Twitter.
In 24 hours, more than 15 million people have spoken, and basically made the decision to bring Donald Trump back to Twitter, winning by less than 2%. The interest in the poll skyrocketed. It seemed like all of the Twitter active users voted. Elon Musk proudly announced that the voting rate is about 1 million votes per hour.

Eventually, Elon Musk unbanned Donald Trump’s Twitter account. However, it appeared that the ex-president has lost over 90 million followers since the account has been banned. He basically started his Twitter account from scratch.
Hours have passed and there is no reaction whatsoever from Donald Trump. He didn’t log into his account to make a say on his resurrection on Twitter. Nevertheless, Donald Trump is not as popular on Twitter as before the ban. However, he immediately started garnering followers. His account is now up by 2.5 million followers in just 10 hours.
What is very strange, is Donald Trump’s silence. There is no tweet or any other public statement about this whatsoever. When you open his profile, all of the old tweets are there. However, there is nothing new. And we all know how Donald Trump used Twitter as his primary communication tool.
Elon Musk has the social media in his possession for almost three weeks, and during this time, he reinstated many controversial figures on Twitter. Donald Trump’s unbanning is the cherry on top of the Twitter cake.
After the not-very-convincing results of the poll, Donald Trump’s profile is reachable on the platform again. And Elon Musk seems very proud of it.
“The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated.” – Elon Musk tweeted right after he closed the poll. “The voice of the people, is the voice of God – Vox Populi Vox Dei” – he added, before declaring that ‘Twitter is ALIVE!’
Regardless of this very ‘generous’ move by Elon Musk, seems like Donald Trump will not be active on Twitter ever again. Last week, Donald Trump made his decision to run for president in the upcoming 2024 elections public. At the press conference, he told the journalists that he won’t be back on Twitter. The reason is that he is active on his own Truth Social media platform which doesn’t have any bugs – unlike Twitter.
