Ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time again, as we’re on the cusp of another installment of the Wednesday Night Wars! And with that being said, we’ve got ourselves another episode of AEW Dynamite to look forward to this evening! The rumors and innuendo surrounding the Dark Order seem to intensify every week and it’s perhaps reached a crescendo today… the whole group will be facing off with SCU and Colt Cabana this evening! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer and you can expect the same recap and results tonight as always for tonight’s event! Plus, a preview of everything that’s in store this evening! Though this week it took a little longer than usual, we did end up getting a full card as per the norm. So let’s get into what we have on tap!
The Dark Order (Evil Uno, Stu Grayson, Alex Reynolds & John Silver) vs. Colt Cabana & SCU (Scorpio Sky, Frankie Kazarian & Christopher Daniels)
This is a pretty significant Atomicos match here, not something you see every day in All Elite Wrestling, but a logical one following Revolution this past weekend. Christopher Daniels made it very clear that he is not the Exalted One nor is he paired with the Dark Order in any way. Colt Cabana also made a surprise appearance in his hometown of Chicago to come make the save when the Dark Order’s numbers were overwhelming SCU after their match. So he stands alongside them as they challenge the Order here, in the hopes of vanquishing them once and for all.
It is the first time that all four of the group’s named members have teamed together at once like this.
And it’s a fitting date for a match like this to be taking place, given all that’s going on surrounding the much speculated Exalted One. Evil Uno has been sending one teaser after another hinting at the shadowy leader of their organization, an idea that was first brought up months ago. While no official announcement has ever been made about when we’d finally be learning the Exalted One’s true identity, it has felt like we’re getting closer. We’re seemingly getting more teasers of it every day, they’ve told us that he or she is near…
And then there’s events like what happened earlier this morning. Long-rumored potential Exalted One Matt Hardy and the Young Bucks are collaborating with Being The Elite and Free The Delete, something that’d be hard to imagine if Matt wasn’t signing with AEW, and this was just revealed today, the first Wednesday where he could theoretically be showing up on Dynamite. Plus Lance Archer debuts tonight as well and he wouldn’t be a bad pick in the slightest… who really knows who it could be? All I know for sure is that I have a strong feeling about tonight. And if the Exalted One is coming tonight, then surely… Dark Order over.
