On November 25, 2022, there was a disturbance at the O’Hare International Airport as the Chicago PD were confronted with a bomb threat. This was an incident with scant details from the Chicago Police Department but it was handled quickly by authorities.
Florida Man Charged After Joking About Having a Bomb in His Bag at O’Hare International Airport
What we do know about the incident is that Gilberto Killingbeck (72), a resident of Boynton, Florida was being checked by the TSA when he made one of the worst jokes that can be made in an airport. He joked to a TSA official that he had a bomb in his bag.
Mind you, he’d probably been in line for a long time and was being sarcastic when answering but joking about having a bomb in a place with a lot of civilian life will always garner a certain response. That’s also true when the joke is made to security and authorities.
Killingbeck was held while his bag was checked for explosives. The Chicago Police Bomb and Arson team found nothing and the Florida native was charged with disorder conduct.
