It is almost like Elon Musk enjoys being bashed by the liberals. It is like he purposely wants to give the left wing something for which they can criticize him and make fun of him. That’s why this Monday he shared an early morning tweet that caused massive backlash and criticism.
The photo shows Elon Musk’s bedside table filled with empty Diet Coke cans, a bottle of water, and a replica of George Washington’s flintlock pistol in a wooden box. Furthermore, there is a replica of Emanuel Leutze’s painting, showing George Washington crossing the Delaware River.
Elon Musk Posts A Picture Of His Bedside Table With Coke, Prop Guns, And A Painting Of Washington
There is a massive reaction to the photo. Especially from the leftist in the United States. Liberals started making fun of Elon Musk, pointing out that he is a ‘simpleton’ and an ‘irresponsible gun owner’.
“How shocking: the richest man on Earth is a f–king trailer park simpleton.” – Shawn Petterson wrote in a reply to the photo.
“With the colonial picture in the background, the historian in me just has to raise the fact that in 1786 cities like Boston implemented a law requiring all firearms to be stored unloaded in the home. All jokes aside, replica gun or not – gun safety isn’t a joke. Grow up.” – Ryan Pinesworth added his comment.
“I really have to troll against this horror. I mean, owning one gun is bad enough for me. But this is just abhorrent and disgusting – and should not be allowed under any circumstance.” – another user added. “Empty cans, a gun, a commemorative gun in a box…no photos of a significant other or any of your children, no favorite book, no warmth. Just stark. Cold. Empty. Grey. How do you sleep?”
Nonetheless, the conversation about Elon Musk’s bedside table pivoted in a direction that he didn’t expect it. Ryan Pinesworth accused the billionaire of censorship, which is countering Elon Musk’s claims that he wants to get rid of it completely. According to Pinesworth, there is a user that has been banned from the platform for tweeting that ‘President Donald Trump should be punished for treason.
“Elon Musk is talking about Apple and free speech… only for the people who lick his boots and agree with him.” – he noted. “I’d be suicidal too if I lost 44 billion dollars, and if my wife left me. Furthermore, if I had no redeeming qualities whatsoever, and contributed nothing meaningful to society.”
It is not the first time that Elon Musk makes an out-of-the-blue surprising tweet like this. There are a bunch of posts that are without some context on his page. One cannot help himself but think that there might be some purpose behind them as well. Elon Musk might post things like this only to provoke comments and attract attention and sympathy from the republican wing in the US.
In the photo, aside from the pistol in the box, we can see a revolver next to it. It appears that the revolver is custom-made, modeled after the Diamond Back .357 revolver in Deus Ex: Human Revolution game. Next to it, there is an object with a strange shape, that caught Twitterati’s eye. While people argued about what the object is, we identify it as a Buddhist Vajra. It is an object that Buddhists believe keeps away enemies.
Still, I must notice that the bedside table is very messy. There are four empty Coke cans and a half-full water bottle, surrounded by condensation rings. Elon Musk acknowledged this right after posting the photo, tweeting “There is no excuse for my lack of coasters”.
Elon Musk strongly believes that he is doing a better job than his predecessors at Twitter. He makes almost daily announcements about the decline in hate speech on the platform and the decline in the number of spam/bot accounts.
However, there are countering studies, performed by independent analysts suggesting the contrary. They suggest that hate speech and cyberbullying reached new heights after Elon Musk took over the platform. Nevertheless, who’ll you believe, you can decide by yourself if you are a regular user of Twitter.
Nonetheless, Elon Musk dedicates himself to his visions. He had the vision to make Tesla one of the greatest car brands, and he certainly succeeded in doing so. Back in 2014, when Tesla’s worth was about 30 times less than what it is now, he told AutoBild Magazine that he stayed up all night and drank enormous amounts of Coke, so he can continue working until the morning.
“There were probably times when I had like eight Diet Cokes a day or something ridiculous.” – he confessed. “I think these days, it’s probably one or two, so it’s not too crazy. I used to have so much coffee… that I’d get really wired. I’d get over-caffeinated and it wouldn’t be good.”
When Elon Musk is in question, there are massively divisive opinions on that whether people like him or hate him. He is a character that you cannot be indifferent about. You either like him very much for what he does, or you absolutely hate him. That’s why, on the posted photo there are many positive comments as well.
Some people happen to think that they realize why Elon Musk posts such controversial tweets. Republicans claim that he does this, with one purpose only – to get on Liberals’ nerves. In the end, they might be right.
“I don’t blame you, but I’m sure Hilary Clinton type people don’t like u very much.” – one user noticed.
“Trigger Tweet of the year lol.” – another one added. “What kinda Gun is that? Is that a Tesla Coiled Gun. Tesla Gun? What’s it shoot? Electricity lightening volts? Pretty dam cool tho. On top of that other super old ass gun in the back far left. Sweet dude. Dude sweet.”
