A man staying at a hotel caused £48,000 damage to his room and was found naked in the shower.
Man On Drugs Causes Over $50,000 Of Damage At A Hotel After Being Found Naked In The Shower
A room at a seaside hotel was trashed after Michael Turner, 52, left the shower running as it became flooded. Guests complained about water leaking in the ceiling which raised everyone’s attention.
When owner Dale Smith discovered Turner naked in the shower at the Heritage Hotel, Porthcawl, South Wales, he was shocked to say the least.
In the pictures here, we can see that there has been an extensive amount of damage to the bedroom, bathroom and living area. The defendant’s behaviour caused substantial damage to walls, carpets, and electric wiring as well as broken shower glass strewn across the floor.
Turner denied being responsible, saying the room had been in ‘perfect condition’ the previous night, despite being high on drugs. Turner pleaded guilty to causing the damage.
With that being said, the judge, David Wynn, presiding over the case did not hold back: “You had an addiction to Class A drugs and the offence was committed while you were under the influence of controlled drugs.”
Turner will serve a prison term of 14 and a half months. Despite justice being done, it does not take away from the fact that Dale will have to carry out extensive repairs on his property.
This will be very time-consuming and no doubt have affected him mentally since it does cast a negative light on his business. Not only that, but the experience for his other customers who had to witness that was also not very good for his reputation.
The only solace that Dale has is that the person has been held to account and luckily nobody else was hurt during this period. And he will be looking to put this behind him as soon as possible.
