The debut World Tag League of the LA Dojo trained duo Gabriel Kidd & Alex Coughlin has not gone as planned. They’ve lost six matches in a row, slowly building their tag team chemistry with every loss. This is not the same team we saw walk out on the first night of the tournament, and tonight they face another team who has faced misfortunes on this tour – as House of Torture only scored a single victory as well. Both teams are mathematically eliminated from the tournament, and there’s not even a chance to play spoiler in this match – making this one all about pride.
House Of Torture Choose To Fight Clean Tonight
With Dick Togo joining them at ringside and SHO never far, House of Torture were set to steal another tournament victory tonight – despite being the favorite to win. However in a twist Togo would be sent to the back by the referee before the bell would ring, with Kidd starting alongside Yujiro. A tight headlock would be applied by Yujiro, with Kidd able to fight free before tandem scoop slams on House of Torture alongside Coughlin.
A jumping senton would follow, getting a two count for Coughlin hit a deadlift back suplex, making this feat of strength look easy. Yujiro would be able to catch Coughlin with a Stungun on the ropes, before EVIL went after Kidd. EVIL would tease driving him into the timekeepers table, but thought better of it for once.
Yujiro would tag EVIL into the match, with Coughlin absorbing the knife edge chops and asking for more. EVIL would instead go low, picking the ankle and applying a leg lock – with Coughlin getting the ropes. Yujiro got the tag and set up the sliding dropkick in the middle of the ring, getting a two count for his efforts.
EVIL would catch Coughlin with a body slam, and tried to force the pinfall – but only got two. This is as clean of a fight as we’ve seen from House of Torture since they formed, and EVIL would be caught by a Black Hole Slam before Kidd got the tag. Kidd would gain some speed on the ropes, before prompting EVIL to do the same – only to drop him with a dropkick.
Alex Coughlin & Gabriel Kidd Overcome The Odds
Yujiro would rush the ring to help EVIL, only to be thrown into his own partner with a lariat. Kidd would catch EVIL with an Exploder Suplex, getting a two count. He’d call for a Tenzan Brainbuster, with EVIL blocking before taking a chop to the throat. EVIL was able to hit the Fisherman Buster, getting a near fall.
Yujiro would look for a Fisherman Buster of his own, only for Kidd to counter and hit a brainbuster. Coughlin would hit the ring and drove Yujiro into the corner with a spinebuster, before hitting the stiff chop and running Death Valley Bomb for a two count – with EVIL breaking the pinfall up. A lariat would be countered into an attempt at Pimp Juice, before Yujiro would be shoved into the referee.
To the dismay of everyone, Dick Togo & SHO would come to the ring, as Yujiro hit the Reverse DDT. EVIL & Takahashi asked them to stand down, wanting to win this one on their own… hitting a set of low blows to Coughlin & Kidd. Now that the ‘clean fighting’ ruse was up, SHO & Togo hit the ring, and it was an all out mugging on Coughlin & Kidd.
Pimp Juice would land on Coughlin and he’d somehow kick out. SHO would distract the referee as EVIL grabbed a chair. Kidd would kick it into the face of EVIL, before Coughlin hit the Bridging Fallaway Suplex for the victory! Couglin & Kidd overcame the odds and finally got a win!
