We’re just a few days away from NXT Deadline, and the Iron Survivor Challenge. Three men were close to making the cut – but instead of being handpicked by Shawn Michaels, they need to earn their spot in the match. Axiom is freshly back from injury, Andre Chase is a NXT fan favourite, and Von Wagner is looking for this signature win. Tonight they meet in a triple threat match, with the winner moving to Deadline.
High Risk Triple Threat For NXT Deadline
Chase would start things fast, going right after Wagner, only to be stopped by Axiom. This allowed Wagner to fight free of the corner – and would apply a double headlock. Both men would shove Wagner off, with him coming back with a shoulder tackle to level both men. Chase & Axiom would work together on a shoulder tackle to take Wagner down, before a double suplex.
Axiom would be told to dive to the floor, only to get a teachable moment when he was rolled up. Wagner got back into the ring and dropped with a dropkick, before Axiom went for a knee bar on Chase only to get stomped. Axiom would catch Chase with a Northern Lights Suplex before a standing moonsault for a two count.
Wagner would hit the ring and take Chase to the floor, before launching Axiom to the floor with a military press slam. Chase & Axiom would once again work together to fight off the powerhouse that is Wagner, only for Chase to be cornered and have Axiom thrown into him with a spear. Axiom would be locked into a Cobra Clutch – a new move for the always improving Wagner.
Axiom Picks His Spot Perfectly
Axiom would fight free before Wagner looked for a superplex – with Chase catching him with a powerbomb before getting Axiom with the superplex. Chase got the Russian Leg Sweep before the Chase U stomps on Wagner – with the Chase U student section cheering him on. Axiom took out Wagner with a dive to the floor, before the springboard was blocked into a Tiger Driver.
Wagner would hit the ring and Axiom caught him in a triangle choke – only to powerbomb his way free – right onto the back of Chase. Axiom nearly took the Death Valley Driver, only for Chase to cut Wager down with a DDT before a crossbody splash. Chase rolled to the floor due to momentum, and Axiom took advantage to hit the Golden Ratio kick for the win.
Joining Joe Gacy, Grayson Waller, Carmelo Hayes and JD McDonagh at NXT Deadline is Axiom. He’s got history with McDonagh – who recently put him on the shelf with a knee injury.
Apollo Crews & Bron Breakker Go Fishing
This Saturday at NXT Deadline, Bron Breakker will defend the NXT Championship. The young champion has never turned down a challenger, and former United States & Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews is no different. After meeting Crews at a his favorite diner last week, this week – Breakker gets some company as champion and challenger go fishing.
Crews would praise the boat of Breakker, saying it cuts through the water so clear… which Breakker says is just like his spear. Breakker would teach Crews how to cast a line, and he was a natural like in the ring. Crews would ask if Breakker is gonna steal anymore of his moves like his standing moonsault, and Breakker would say he might.
Breakker would be asked if fishing actually helps him with title defenses, and he’d simply say the silence is nice. At this time, Crews would catch a fish, while Breakker caught none. Today wasn’t his day, and Saturday might not be either.
