Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix Docuseries is out now, and it received massive criticism. Numerous royal family members are among the people that criticize the series as tasteless and ‘fake’. According to insiders in the royal family, Prince William did not take well the fact that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle used a clip from Princess Diana’s BBC interview in their series.
It is not the first time that Prince William expresses his views on the infamous Panorama interview. His point of view is that no one should broadcast the interview ever again. However, now, that the internet offers direct access to it, he should be aware that clips from it will appear in different movies/documentaries.
Prince William Angry At Prince Harry And Meghan Markle For Including Controversial Princess Diana Clip In The Docuseries
“William will be rightly furious about it.” – according to an inside source that spoke with The Mirror. “He couldn’t have been clearer in the past. e thought that this is the one thing he and Harry agree on. Sadly once more it shows the gulf between the two brothers couldn’t be wider.”
People widely criticize the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for filming the docuseries. They brand their stories as fabricated and manipulated to make them look like victims. Critics claim that the fact that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry included a part from the controversial Panorama interview in the series is an indicator of how little they care about the Royal family.
“Sadly once more it shows the gulf between the two brothers couldn’t be wider.” – the royal insider added. The video insert from the Panorama interview appears in the middle of the episode when Prince Harry starts talking about his mother and her issues with the press.
“I think she had lived experience of how she was struggling to live that life.” – Prince Harry says. He makes the statement right before the documentary shows the cut from the interview. “She felt compelled to talk about it. Especially in that Panorama interview. I think we all now know that BBC tricked her into giving the interview. But at the same time, she spoke the truth of her experience.”
BBC filmed the interview under some controversial conditions. The journalist that conducted the interview, Martin Bashir, faked bank statements in order to gain access to Princess Diana. He reached her through her brother, Earl Spencer. According to a report by Dyson, the BBC lied to Earl. However, recently, they settled their dues.
“Following the publication of the Dyson Report, the BBC and Alan Waller reached a settlement.” – BBC announced. “The BBC has agreed to pay Mr. Waller an agreed sum in damages and to pay his reasonable costs. And apologizes to him for the false information included in the fabricated bank statements used to procure the 1995 Interview with Diana, Princess of Wales.”
