Every year, there are breakout stars in wrestling. Most of the breakout stars in WWE nowadays come from NXT first, so lets take a look at who they have on their roster at the moment that are most likely to have a big year in 2023.

    Oro Mensah

A young wrestler that was rebranded from NXT UK, Oro Mensah is very athletic and has a great look. I think that we will see him finally gain his footing and start to float around the North American title picture.

He needs a good storyline or two to get his character established but he could be a great babyface if he can get the crowd behind him.

Will he ever be NXT Champion? I really doubt it, but you never know. I will say that he is going to be someone in the same vein as a Carmello Hayes or Santos Escobar. I don’t see him being as good in ring as them because of the experience difference but he could have that kind of run.

I can also see him as part of a tag team if that is the direction that they want to go with him. Although it might not be what he or the fans want, there are many wrestlers that was once part of a popular tag team break out and become a big star.

    Dijak

This is a wrestler that should have been a made man by now, but we know how that turned out.

He had a great run of matches his first time in NXT but never really had any real solo success. This time around, I think that the roster is a little clearer so there is more opportunity than there was before.

When he was in NXT the first time, the roster was absolutely stacked. Now, it isn’t as stacked as it was then.

For some reason, when he returned, he said that he was going to be going after the North American title. I believe that he is someone that they should have put in the NXT Championship picture right away.

He don’t need much development at all. He just needs to work on his promos, but he will have time.

    Odyssey Jones

This is a big guy that supposed to had a big 2022 but injuries stopped his path short. He is very athletic and powerful.

At the moment, he is working as part of a kind of group with Malik Blade and Edris Enofe which could be very entertaining if they give it some time to develop.

I think that Odyssey could have a breakout year while floating around the North American title picture. After looking at NXT roster, I think that there is going to have to be a mass influx of talent at some point throughout the year.

There aren’t many people that I can see on the roster now that he could have a good feud with. Probably Grayson Waller or Schism if they wanted to run a group against group feud.
