The Winnipeg Police Service have finally captured a trio of burglars who preyed on citizens for 40 over days of 40 break-ins in the city. Authorities say that the hits occurred between November 4 and December 14, 2022.
Winnipeg Police Arrest Trio Responsible for 40 Burglaries Across 40-Plus-Day Crime Spree
On December 15, 2022, authorities found one of the members—a 26-years-old man—was spotted driving around in a stolen vehicle. He was apprehended as were his partners—a 44-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman—during a separate traffic stop.
In total, the group stole $100,000 in items, six cars, and caused $250,000 in damages to those very same cars. The 26-year-old was charged with 36 counts of break and enter, 29 counts of theft under $5,000, as well as six counts of car theft.
His 44-year-old co-conspirator was charged with 34 B&E and 29 counts of theft under $5,000. The woman was charged with 15 counts of B&E and three counts of theft under $5,000.
In addition to those charges, the trio also face a charge of unauthorized possession of a firearm. Following their arrest, the property crime unit and the tactical support team of the Winnipeg Police ma aged to retrieve $10,000 in property via a search warrant.
At the moment, the trio hasn’t been assigned a court date.
