Unlike this week’s episode of AEW Dark Elevation, I wasn’t as much of a fan of Dark this week. Even though it wasn’t the best, there are a lot of good things that was on the show, and even some things that most people wouldn’t think would be good.
The Good from AEW Dark
Anytime that a AEW Dark show starts out with Angelico, it will always get a good nod from me. He is someone that I wish was getting used more on Dynamite and Rampage.
I don’t think that he has to go on a winning streak, I just want to see him on the shows over some of the people that they have on there.
The next few good parts are four straight squash matches. When it is done correctly, I don’t mind squash matches. These were fine. They are getting a little out of control with as many of them that was on the show.
There were actually more than four but some of them weren’t as good. The ones that were include Evil Uno defeating Blake Li. I liked it because it showcased Evil Uno and didn’t make Blake look like a complete bum.
Next, Red Velvet defeated Billie Starkz. This was another squash but I liked it because I don’t get to see much of Red Velvet. She was surprisingly solid in the match. It didn’t last long but I could see that she was capable.
The Iron Savages defeated Bullock and Ryan was another squash. For wrestlers and teams that don’t get much television time, it is good to bring them out every now and then to remind fans that they are still threats.
The last of the good squash matches was Diamante defeating Mafiosa. I really like Diamante. I wonder if there is a reason why she isn’t featured more on Dynamite or Rampage. She is actually one of the better women that I have seen on the roster.
The last good thing about Dark this week was the match between AR Fox and Slim J. I have said many times that I love the Trustbusters group. They really need to get Ari Davari back though. I think that he completes the act.
This match was pretty good for the main event. It was fast paced and everything look great. AR Fox won which I wondered why. He is a wrestler that I like in the ring but outside of it, there really isn’t much to him.
