Three AEW Wrestlers That Will Have a Big 2023

I was surprised at how many wrestlers AEW has on its roster. They actually have almost as many wrestlers as WWE and NXT combined with four less hours of weekly television than them. With that being said, many of the wrestlers on their roster don’t get any shine, but these are the three that will.

    Konosuke Takeshita

In a company that still have many flaws, in ring talent has never been one of them. Konosuke is someone that I can see getting a lot of action in 2023.

He is great in the ring and the fans not only love him, but desperately want to see more of him. I am not sure if he knows how to speak English, but his in-ring work speaks for itself.

While I can’t see him being a main event player in the company with knowing how to work a mic at least alright, I can see him holding down the All-Atlantic title picture and even making the occasional losing effort for the TNT title.

With today’s fans, it is hard to truly tell who the fans like and don’t like, but there is no doubt that the fans like Konosuke and want to see him flourish with AEW.

    Powerhouse Hobbs

Hobbs is one of the biggest examples to prove that AEW don’t know how to book big wrestlers. Powerhouse Hobbs is someone who should be able to book himself.

He is a large guy that is powerful, athletic, has an amazing look, is young, and can be looked at as a home-grown talent. Why isn’t he getting pushed.

Mainly because AEW has too many wrestlers in or around the same positions on the card and there are just people that are more experienced than him or more popular than him.

I think that Powerhouse Hobbs is someone like Jade Cargill, who looks so much like a star, that whatever faults they may have in the ring, AEW needs to find a way to cover it up so that they can capitalize on what they have.

Either way, this year will be a make-or-break year for AEW because if Powerhouse Hobbs is not happy with how he is being used, you know that WWE cannot wait to sign someone with his look.

Top Flight (Dante and Darius Martin)

Something that has been consistent in AEW since they started has been their tag team division.

At first, it was usually put the Young Bucks in every tag team match and you usually get a pretty good result. Then it turned into, hey, we have these other teams in the company, lets see if they can work without the Young Bucks.

To nobody’s surprise, they can. With rumors about FTR possibly being on the way out of AEW and back to WWE, AEW will have a large void to fill in the tag team division.

Instead of doing to much to replace them, look to who you already have on the roster in Top Flight.

While I will say that I don’t think that Top Flight and FTR are an equal exchange, I do think that they are the right team to start pushing early in the year. You can never have too many babyfaces that the fans actually care about and Top Flight is one of those teams.

They can put on great matches with almost any combination of tag team that AEW has and they are even good in singles matches. Look for Top Flight to have a huge year in 2023.
