A Massachusetts man was arrested in connection with his wife’s disappearance just after midnight on January 1, 2023. According to the Cohasset PD, Brian Walshe misled authorities during the investigation while doing everything to make himself a suspect.
Massachusetts Man Arrested After Allegedly Misleading Authorities as Search for His Missing Wife Continues
On January 1, 39-year-old Ana Walshe got into a rideshare heading from Cohasset to Boston. According to Brian Walshe, Ana was catching a flight to Washington D.C. However, investigators didn’t find evidence of her taking the ride or boarding a flight. Foot searches by the State Police and the Cohasset PD turned up little of use in the case.
It wasn’t until Walshe was arrested after the investigation turned up that Brian was moving very suspiciously after his wife disappeared. The day after reporting Ana missing, Walshe hit up a Home Depot and purchased $450 in cleaning supplies and other items such as tape, according to authorities.
Also, he didn’t notify the police when he leaves the house most of the time. In April 2021, he was found guilty of several fraud-related charges after he sold two fake Andy Warhol paintings on eBay. Since it involved defrauding someone over state lines and the exchange of money, this was a federal case and Walshe’s movement was restricted.
It just gives Brian unexplained disappearances during a state investigation into his wife’s disappearance. The signs point to this ending up as a homicide investigation.
Brian Walshe was arrested on January 9, 2023 but pleaded not guilty to misleading the police. When the Cohasett PD searched the Walshe residence they found a bloody knife and blood in the basement. Brian Walshe had his bond set at $500,000 or $500 million surety.
