When it comes to rising stars in the NXT Women’s division, one of the best rookies has already proven to be Sol Ruca. Her impressive performance and saves in the battle royale last week even had Kofi Kingston impressed, and tonight she has her biggest singles match to date. Alba Fyre was set to face Ruca back in 2022 but was sidetracked by Isla Dawn, but tonight looks to properly test her skills.
Sol Ruca Gets Biggest Win Of Her Young Career
Ruca would be driven into the corner as this match began, before cartwheeling out of an arm wrench. Fyre would be hit with a springboard crossbody for a one count, before Ruca forced her down with a backslide for a two count. Ruca would be able to hit a facebuster, before being stomped into the mat by Fyre.
Fyre would show her frustration as she nailed a superkick and pummeled Ruca into the corner. Isla Dawn would appear in the rafters and distract Fyre from afar. Ruca would take this chance to hit the Imploding Flip Cutter known as the Sol Snatcher for the shock victory. This just cements her as the fastest rising star in the division today.
Grayson Waller Just Needs His Reign To Be Undisputed After New Years Evil
Grayson Waller had his chance to be NXT Champion stolen from him, due to incompetence with the NXT ring crew. After blocking the Spear of Bron Breakker with a rising knee strike, the match should have been done – only for the ring rope to break for the second time in a match, causing Waller to fall to the floor and be counted out. He gets his rematch at Vengeance Day – and had a chance to speak with Vic Joseph earlier today.
Over the last seven days, Waller just thought that he let everyone down. He was going to save NXT by beating Breakker, and in the end – Breakker couldn’t beat him. That match went exactly as he expected until the ropes snapped. He was able to hit the Waller Elbow, but next thing he knew – he was on the floor unsure where he was as the referee counted to ten.
Breakker was half dead in the ring, so Waller just considers it his win. He even got his own belt. At Vengeance Day, his reign will simply be undisputed. Waller promised to pin Breakker in the cage, and take his spot among legends.
Gallus Boys On Top
No one expected Gallus to return to NXT last week, let alone for them to beat down their old rivals Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs to take their spot in a gauntlet match. The New Day had intended for Jensen & Briggs to be the final entrant in a Pretty Deadly focused match, but instead Wolfgang & Mark Coffey tore down to the ring and crushed Pretty Deadly in a matter of moments. Tonight, Jensen & Briggs get their chance at revenge.
Briggs & Jensen would be quick to strike as Gallus finished their entrance, with Jensen quickly beat into the Gallus corner. Coffey would be dropped with a double shoulder tackle as Briggs got the tag, getting a one count. Wolfgang would hit a blind knee to the back of Jensen following a quick tag, before just mauling Jensen with strikes.
Jensen was able to get a lucky tag to Briggs, who ran Wolfgang down with a big boot. Coffey got a blind tag and pulled Briggs to the floor for a backdrop onto the apron. On the floor, Gallus would expose some concrete – with Briggs able to avoid a suplex, hitting one of his own.
Back in the ring, Briggs would hit a back body drop on Coffey before some rushing back elbow smashes from Jensen. Coffey fought back with a Kitchen Sink knee strike before Wolfgang came off the top with a senton splash. Gallus would cut the ring in half, only for Jensen to fight free and get the more experienced Briggs in.
Both Coffey & Wolfgang were sent to the floor and dropped with a senton, before Jensen was thrown onto the concrete. Briggs was left to fight solo, as Jensen fought to rise to his feet with help. Coffey & Wolfgang took advantage of the handicap situation, claiming the big win.
