Just one week after the brutal challenge of Escalera De La Muerte against Death Triangle, The Young Bucks have accepted a match against the fast paced duo of Top Flight. Back in 2020, The Young Bucks would recruit Top Flight into the company, viewing them as two of the future stars of the industry – and defeating them in their first TV match. Since then, Dante & Darius Martin have improved as professional wrestlers, and look to take advantage of a beaten up duo in Matt & Nick Jackson here tonight for their biggest win yet. This is also the first traditional tag team match for The Young Bucks since July 2022 when they lost the AEW World Tag Team Championships to Swerve In Our Glory.

The Young Bucks Represent Their Greatest Rivals

Dante & Nick would kick this match off, trading shoulder tackles in the middle of the ring before going for dropkicks at the same time. Nick would be caught with a surprise roundhouse kick, rolling into the corner for a tag to Matt. Darius would get the blind tag and hit a quick bulldog on Matt, before a tag team backbreaker.

Young Bucks would hit the ring together to try to cut Top Flight down, trapping Dante in one corner. Matt would set up a slingshot on Darius, as Nick hit a slingshot double foot stomp before floating across the ring into a backstabber on Dante. The pressure was kept on in the ring, with some fist and knee drops to the face before a cocky pinfall.

Both Matt & Nick Jackson were wearing Briscoe armbands, having wrestled 41 matches against Jay & Mark Briscoe all around the world – few teams knew them better. Dante would take a Bulldog/Dropkick combo, before the Risky Business would land for a two count. Desperate to make the tag, Dante would spike Matt with a headscissor driver and get Darius in the match.

Darius would nail a stiff lariat before the Spanish Fly, before hitting a dive to the floor on Nick. Right back into the ring, he’d be able to catch a rising Matt with a crossbody splash. Dante got the tag, but showed his inexperience – missing a blind tag to Nick and pinning the wrong man. Meltzer Driver would nearly be set up, but Darius was able to make the save.

Top Flight Get The Biggest Win Of Their Career

Top Flight had this one won as Red Eye would land on Matt, with Nick having the make the save to keep the match going. He’d drag Matt to the corner for the tag, before hitting the facebuster on Dante and moonsault on Darius on the floor before a slingshot flipping piledriver for the near fall.

Young Bucks looked for the Doomsday Device, a move that The Briscoes used as a finisher in their career – but Darius would make the save this time. Young Bucks were sent out to the floor, and Dante looked to dive off the top rope onto them only to take a double superkick. Darius would duck the BTE Trigger, and get a flash pinfall on Nick Jackson.

Three seconds later, the bell would ring – as Top Flight defeated the Young Bucks. Ever since Darius has been back and healthy, this team has been on a constant upward rise. This is the biggest victory of their young careers, and could well set them up on the path to a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

Billy Gunn Has Two Words For His Sons

We were set to hear from the reigning champions, but instead of the music of The Acclaimed – we’d hear the music of The Gunn Club. This past Friday, The Gunns were embarrassed by The Acclaimed – having their asses shoved into wet cement. They would demand respect, calling themselves the best tag team in the world. Austin Gunn would take credit for making The Acclaimed popular, even going as far as to give them their own father.

The Acclaimed would come to the ring, with Gunn preventing any rapping. Caster would simply get Austin’s microphone turned off and made his way to the ring, saying The Gunns are the worst kids since Hunter Biden. A brawl would break out in the ring, with Billy trying to play peacemaker – pulling Bowens & Caster off his sons and sending them running.

He’s sick and tired of this behaviour. His sons are being spoiled brats, and The Acclaimed aren’t acting like tag team champions. Next week, he will put an end to this – and has two words for The Gunns. Family therapy.

Hangman Page Needs To Mend Some Old Fences

Hangman Page was a motivated man walking into the ring to face Jon Moxley last week on AEW Dynamite, and it paid off. He’s become one of the only men to claim a clean victory over Moxley in an AEW ring, something even the likes of Kenny Omega & Chris Jericho have previously struggled with. The force of the Buckshot Lariat might have also put Moxley on the shelf, with Moxley helped to the back following the match. Tonight we hear from Hangman Page – and find out what he intends to do with Moxley in the rear view mirror.

Hangman Page would say that he let the fans down when he failed to take the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley. His win last week atleast proved that was possible. Renee would mention that Moxley said that Page is someone who pushes him to get better in the ring – and Page would welcome another match.

Page would be asked what is next, and that could mean mending fences that should have been fixed a long time ago. Renee would be asked about how Moxley is actually feeling, and he’s been hurt in some way for the past decade – he’ll dust himself off.

Will Hangman Page rejoin The Elite soon? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world.
