A Boston man was arrested and charged with trying to hire a hitman to kill his wife and her boyfriend. Authorities began looking into Mohammed Chowdhury (46) in November 2022 after receiving a tip that he was shopping around for a hitman to do the job.

The informant told federal investigators that Chowdhury had already hired one person to carry out the hit but that person ran off with the money. It was also mentioned that the Boston man was in a hurry to get the murders done soon. He was described as so desperate that it is claimed that Chowdhury said he would do anything to get the money up to pay off the killer.
This gave federal authorities the opening to run undercover agents as interested hitmen. Mohammed Chowdhury reportedly took interest in how the “hitman” would dispose of the bodies. He explained that his wife was keeping him from their children and that he wanted the hitman to beat both his wife and the boyfriend.
According to the U.S Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, Chowdhury offered $4,000 per body with a $500 deposit. He also proved undercover agents with photos of their intended “targets.” Despite the urgency of these murders-in-the-works, authorities managed to drag Chowdhury along from December 2022 until January 17, 2023 when he was arrested while taking a deposit to a hired gun.
Mohammed Chowdhury was charged with one count of murder-for-hire and will appear in court on January 20, 2023. If convicted, he can face up to 10 years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000, and three years of supervised release.
